It doesn’t sound like it from this screenshot. I mean, I won’t be confident with “intelligently turn off”. I want it to not be turn off at all (so when I wake up in the middle of the night I could see the time)

Standby works this way as well.

But just moving to see the phone or reaching my hand in its direction turns the display on at night.

I already did my part, but I see a surge in angled MagSafe charging stands coming.

It would be great if you could adjust the Standby Mode app's display like you can with CarPlay, adjusting a couple apps from a drop down menu or something to choose what apps are shown..
You can. You can select which clock face is used, and on the dual widget view each side is a Smart Stack, so you can swipe through them to choose which one to see or even press and hold to change the widgets in the stack.

I understand, but I was suggesting an ability to adjust these within the Settings App under the Standby setting, not just by swiping thru. Eventually there will be a LOT of apps that support this. I don't want to swipe thru 20 apps to get to something.

I had that same thought. And you can only make changes while the phone is on the MagSafe stand (or at least on its side horizontally). Not the easiest way to be fiddling with the phone.

And considering most folks would probably do this at night, maybe even shortly before bed, having a great way ahead of time to adjust what's there later would be very helpful.

That's why you can press and hold to add and remove widgets from the stack. No more difficult than choosing Widgets on the Home Screen.

Except, as I noted above, you have the additional challenge of doing this while the phone is on a magnetic charger or at least kept steady on two axes 𝘢𝘯𝘥 connected to a power cable. That’s the hard part (relatively).

The phone doesn't need to remain entirely still to stay in StandBy, just to activate it. My XR doesn't have MagSafe, so I just have to plug it in and hold it still and sideways for a few moments to activate it, and then I can move it around a bit after that as long as I don't turn it back to portrait.

but the only time you can make any changes is when you have it plugged in, not when you’re away from your desk. You can ONLY make changes when you swipe on your phone’s display when it’s plugged in. Sure.

Can we get back on topic of the little things, rather than this devolving into a thread that’s just about issues around standby mode?
:-(

Forgot our discussion must not be a “little thing”

You can crop a photo without going to edit.

When you zoom in, you get a ‘crop’ button on the top right. Less steps For something simple!

Is this crop button always visible or only when the photo date/edit button is present? If it's impossible to zoom into a photo without that in the corner, this is a major drawback.

In the Wallet app you used to have to do a little dance to reorder your cards: marking one as the default one, then other... until all of them were in order.

Well, it's been fixed now. You can drag the cards while in the Wallet app (both on the iPhone and Watch versions).

Huh…I’ve never experienced the issue you mentioned. I’ve always been able to just drag them around in the Wallet app.

Well, now I feel like a fool :)

It seems you're right. I had to do it the hard way forever ago and it seems I never realized there's been a better way for the last few years.

Anyone know if we can finally have a shortcut to call someone AND have audio comes out of phone speaker?
Like “Hey Siri, Call Joe and put it on Speakerphone” ?

Yeah, I’m kinda surprised we don’t have that as an option. Would be great to tap an icon for someone’s name and it just calls them, and even routes it to a HomePod or something. Good idea.

Exactly that. Shortcut only allow you to call someone but not put the audio through phone speakers which for some contact - like calling my mother - I’d have to select speakers every time which is tiresome.
