FYI.:.the Belkin charger doesn’t come with a plug…I swear…how did I miss that?

Guys, this topic is for all the little things. To list changes and new features discovered. Not to chat or to show off Magsafe stands.

Ummmm…I think I showed the music playing feature. Is that not a “little thing”?? It just happened to coincide with the arrival of the stands.

Hello, general question for those who are without the beta program.
Is it that update available so far only as recovery image? I have not renewed by subscription plan and I see the downloadable recovery image but not the profile.

Someone can confirm or not?

Thanks.

That's not what this thread is for.

View attachment 2215639Updated kids iPad to iPadOS 17 dev beta, have my phone on ios17 and watch in watch os10. Kids iPad have screen time limited. With ios16 when they request for additional screen time I would usually get a push notification. With iOS 17 additional to push notification now you get a iMessage as well.
You could approve or reject within iMessage. Usually I approve the requests from watch because approving from the phone have to enter screen time passcode. While approving from iMessage it didn’t ask for a screen time passcode.

This was (and still is) an advertised feature of iOS16. I guess, like me, you never found it to be true in iOS16.

With ios16 I just got push notification when kids request additional time but with ios17 with push notification an iMessage is also sent.

More precisely, the deadline for compliance will be in March 2024. Before that, the EU first will have to designate the affected gatekeepers, which will happen this September. Apple is unlikely to proactively do anything publicly before that. And then they still have six months before they are required to comply. Last but not least, Apple will probably only enable it for devices purchased in the EU.
I wasn’t being that specific, as I thought just saying 2024 was enough to make the point to the person I was replying to that it won’t be in iOS 17.0, but a later point release.

And quite likely not at all in the US.

Yet.

I wasn’t criticizing, just wanted to give more context.

I think it changes depending on what you have connected to the TV. Mine looked like that in iOS 16, too, but I have a sounder connected to a Roku TV (not a HomePod).
It’s shown me both versions of them now, but nothing changed in regards to what’s connected.

I think the standby mode is going to wreck a lot of people’s battery, leaving there phones charging the whole time

It can only be used if the phone on a charging stand. However that doesn’t mean the phone is always drawing power. Although bright, the AOD refreshes at only 1hz, so that won’t significantly drain the battery.

It already can be. The only time it goes off is if you are in the sleep focus mode.
It doesn’t sound like it from this screenshot. I mean, I won’t be confident with “intelligently turn off”. I want it to not be turn off at all (so when I wake up in the middle of the night I could see the time)

Apple didn't even mention it during WWDC but I discovered that the iOS keyboard since iOS 17 version supports QuickPath (swipe) function for new countries such as: Poland. I guess dictionaries of some other countries were added too.
Yep, such essential feature which users of other brands have been using for more than 10 years was added by Apple in 2023 xD. I can't believe it either. Due to the lack of swipe I used the GBoard and SwiftKey keyboards all the time instead of iOS....

It would be great if you could adjust the Standby Mode app's display like you can with CarPlay, adjusting a couple apps from a drop down menu or something to choose what apps are shown..
