That's possible now and you don't even need a shortcut. Just say "Hey Siri, call Mom on speakerphone". Has been around since 2018. start-a-speakerphone-call-with-siri-iphone

I know.

I have an icon to call my mom right there on the Home Screen. I don’t have to ask Siri, I just tap. Problem is I can’t make it automatically route audio to phone speakers because shortcut cant do it. That’s what I’m talking about.
if you don’t know why having an icon to call someone is far more convenient than using Siri in many situations you should try it. 😉 Trust me. You’ll love it.

Hate to say it, but I just pull my phone out and make the call.

I love Shortcuts, but I also love simplicity. I don't make enough calls that I need to reduce the number of button pushes.

But I agree with the idea that you should suggest this via Feedback.

I think the issue may be that it would then need yet another identifier for calls.

What if you pressed that button while you were in the car and connected to CarPlay? Or in a room and already connected to HomePods?

Do you ALWAYS want to make that call via speakerphone? Maybe you do, but I’m guessing it is more complicated when folks want that shortcut, but only when the phone isn’t connected to another audio source.

But this is coming from a guy that is too slow to have caught on the shortcuts yet…so…

it’s one of the best apps on iPhone 😉

Edit: to be fair though we’ll get this functionality with Contact widget in iOS 17 but the touch target AFAIS is too small for me. We tap app every day and it’s the most comfortable tap target on iPhone so I’ll continue to use it.
and I also don’t lose valuable space on Home Screen on that widget.

Looks to be a cached page, not the sIt’s directly. Maybe the Wayback Machine? Or a saved link resolves to that?
