Here it is, sorry about my poor scribbling.
The thing I love about my new charger and standby in my office is yes, the clock…and my upcoming appointments (or weather), but the text notifications are good (a little fast)…but the horizontal call answering and the fact that it automatically does speakerphone, perfecto!
I was super duper surprised to see the horizontal call screen, I wonder if it only worked with beta 2 or what, since I haven’t seen or heard about it in any of YouTube reviews or anywhere else.
It was in beta 1…I’m in Standby mode like 75% of my day.
my personal observation is: there are no big jumps in modern OSes, just incremental changes, improvements (hopefully), and new features. more evolutionary than revolutionary. in that respect, my iphone feels much like it did on ios 16... and that's not a bad thing 👍Do you guys like iOS 17? Does it feel like a big jump up from iOS 16?
New with Beta 1Text Magnification is back when selecting text. Or is this something I’ve just not noticed

responding to my own post! am hating this; every single call looks like a facetime call; very disconcerting (and reported in feedback assistant).a small thing, but annoying (for me):
the new grey screen when someone calls looks a lot like my ceiling if someone facetimes me (& my phone is on the desk where it, and i, usually are). so it always looks like a facetime call...
That's a weird kind of oval shape, looks uneven.Text Magnification is back when selecting text. Or is this something I’ve just not noticed

Am i the only one who misses skeuomorphism? I like the detailed and 3D look of the old icons.iPhone OS 1 vs iPhone OS 17. We have come a long way. Big difference in design and icons. 💫

Agreed! Also at times, I do miss, the “slide to unlock” feature. Especially the unlocking sound. 🥺Am i the only one who misses skeuomorphism? I like the detailed and 3D look of the old icons.
Yes. it was such a satisfying thing. the first few iphones and operating systems were remarkably intuitive.Agreed! Also at times, I do miss, the “slide to unlock” feature. Especially the unlocking sound. 🥺

I wish Apple would make their own version of Material Design. Something between skeuomorphic and 3DAm i the only one who misses skeuomorphism? I like the detailed and 3D look of the old icons.
That's what we see with neumorphism in MacOS and I still can't understand why they didn't bring these changes to iOSI wish Apple would make their own version of Material Design. Something between skeuomorphic and 3D
I noticed this today:

At the top it's showing what is using my location services. This is very convenient and nice. I have no idea if this is new for 17 but it's the first time i've noticed it.
It's fun looking back on some of that... iPhone OS was so ahead of its time, especially coming from stuff like Blackberry. I do think, however, that the design language needed to go when it did. These devices are at an age now where, with skeuomorphism, most users may not even relate to the items the icons and app designs would be "mimicking". There are students who've never (literally) used a paper notepad for any schoolwork, those who only know cameras as "the thing on the back of a phone", never used a standalone calculator, etc.We need this in the Notes app. iOS 6 vibes! Keep it simple. Skeuomorphism at its finest! 💫
