Siri in CarPlay volume for notifications is loud but reading messages is barely audible. Anyone else notice?

If you get those disappearing status bar icons/lock screen widgets, I may have found another trick besides rebooting: just go to your lock screen and long-press it as if you’re gonna Customize it, then come back, and it should fix it. Just scare it a little and it’ll then behave correctly.

I’ve not seen anyone mention this yet, so apologies if it’s been posted in a previous thread, but they added 2 new voices to the British Siri accent.

Has anyone actually documented this yet? I tried googling to find information about the new voices but I can only find posts about changes to German language Siri in iOS 17 (beta 3 specifically).

If this is a new discovery, is there anyone who happens to be on an older build like b1 and b2 to see if it appears there? I’ve confirmed with a bunch of iOS 16 devices that they are not available, so it’s definitely new to iOS 17.

Don’t know if this is a weather app bug or Apple weather data problem, but the weather app says it’s 80 degrees here when other weather apps say it’s around 65 degrees. Being outside, I can definitely say it’s closer to 65 than 80.
Sometimes the Weather app for "My Location" picks one of my defined cities at random instead of actually using my location. I have an Asian city in my list, and when I turned my phone on this morning was surprised to find out it was already 35°C. However, it had decided my location (only for the weather app) was Taipei. So make sure the app really knows where you are.

I gave up and just set the city I'm in rather than use my location.

It doesn’t always work like that. Your solution is a workaround if the disappearing widgets/wallpaper is temporary.
The serious more prominent issue doesn’t respond to any long presses on the Lock Screen. This involves wallpaper/widgets permanently disappearing and even the wallpaper settings is empty with no previous wallpapers shown. Only workaround so far is changing the region to something else and then back as figured out by @paulo_ .

I’ve given up on apple weather. I’ve tried really hard to go first party on apps as much as possible. Weather is just super unreliable.

Every time I restart my phone, I get completely black background with no custom wallpapers. I get around this by putting the locked phone onto my MagSafe charger, putting the phone landscape, and then it resprings, and then is fine again until the next restart.

The changing region trick didn’t work for you? Just the region in General->Language & Region.
It did for me in b2 and hasn’t happened since even after an OTA to b3.

Haven’t tried it. Takes literally five seconds with my MagSafe charger.

Well once again going back to 16.6. :( While there seems to be only a few issues with B3 the ones that are there driving me nuts. The constant wallpaper issue with every reboot and an app that I used a LOT that refuses to open without crashing is not worth the hassle to me. Not a lot of new features that I even care about (short of standby) is worth the trouble. Think I will just be an observer for a while now :) Keep up the good work guys!

The wallpaper issue can be resolved by changing the region in General settings.

Yeah it does until a reboot then its jacked again and have to do that process again. Thanks though!
But it’s not permanent if it happens again when you restart though is it?
That’s weird! Cuz it solved the issue permanently for me. The only thing I did was change the region while I was on b2 and then OTA to b3 when it was released.
Maybe try reinstalling b3 with ipsw after changing the region and back if you haven’t already. It was frustrating while it lasted.

Yeah is was in the keynote and in B1. It does work but can get a bit wonky (in b1). If it does you have to reset the categories in settings>reminders to clear the categories.

Someone needs to do a YouTube tutorial or something like that, I’ve never used the reminders app because it’s so confusing, it’s like a choose your own software adventure.

Same here. Significant Locations gets turned on every time I hard reset or restart my phones. Happens on both 14 Pro and XS Max. Did you submit a bug report? If so, may I have the feedback reference number? Thanks!
I did- report # is FB12510541. This bug has been present on all 3 betas and it's quite annoying.
