I spoke too soon:

Rebooted my phone now I have an annoying bug...when I go to reply to a text, the "text box" doesn't pop up unless I go back to the main message screen then back to the conversation.
I’ve been seeing this too. Rather than backing out I just type my Messages and it eventually appears.

I’m not sure if this is iOS 17 Beta related or if it’s just an Music thing — I began noticing this glitch around the time that the first iOS 17 Beta came out, so maybe someone can confirm:

When a brand new album comes out at midnight and I add it to my Library, the release date is missing from the info at the bottom of the page (where it usually has the number of songs, album runtime, and record label info)

This happens with every new album…if I add it to my library within, say, six hours of the release…the release date is missing. Then, the next day, I’ll delete the album from my Library and immediately add it back and the release date appears. It’s as if the system needs 12 hours to process that part or something.

Here is the new Local Natives album that just came out about an hour ago:

And here’s what it looks like when I add it to my Library:

Just checked. Looks like adding a new album to your library within the first 12 hours of its release means that the release date (and sometimes lyrics) will be missing.

I checked periodically by adding/deleting the same new albums from the time they released at midnight to 12pm noon the next day. It wasn’t until 12pm noon, a full 12 hours after the release, that I was able to get the release date to properly appear. Weird.

I can’t get over how bad the battery life is on beta 3. My 14 Pro has 100% battery health and this is brutal. Thinking of downgrading to iOS 16 and just going back to stable
Could it be an app? Maybe try updating them all before downgrading? I actually have much better battery life on this version----I'm at 95% and it's been unplugged for 6 hours...light surfing and checking texts/emails.

The Home widget on iphone keeps coming up blank. Given the material on the intro “card” presented when Home is opened for the first time on beta 3, I figured this would be fixed. But it’s not.

Does anyone else have anything showing on that widget?
YES, has anyone suggested a fix to you?

iOS 17 Beta 3 - I don't think anyone has mentioned this feature here but it's neat!

Has anyone got that to work? I’ve tried but nothing happens.

Oh! That is cool!

On checking this out, I found that they have added a category for pet care.

These are great quality of live improvements!
Yeah is was in the keynote and in B1. It does work but can get a bit wonky (in b1). If it does you have to reset the categories in settings>reminders to clear the categories.

They have not, but overnight it populated! I’d try removing it and reinstalling and then see what happens.
I was hoping that it would be a slow starter!! These widgets are probably the sole reason I even put iOS 17 on my main device))) Hope this works. And of course this feature works fine on my backup phone))))

Has anyone else noticed a voice mail change? I don't know if it's an iOS 17 thing or not. My friends/family are telling me that my VM prompt isn't my voice any more. It says something like, "The person you are calling can't take your call, but if you say your name, they might answer..." It's so weird.

Not weird at all if you are in the US? It’s the new live voicemail feature….i think

I re-recorded my custom greeting and was told my VM greeting is back to being me again. One caller gave me feedback that they thought the "they might answer" came off as rude 🙃

My custom greeting says "Hi, you've reached (my name). After the tone, please say your name and reason for calling. If I'm able, I will pick up the call. Otherwise, I will call you back as soon as I can. Thank you!"

Okay, I tried recording a new greeting and it still reverts back to ""The person you are calling can't take your call, but if you say your name, they might answer..." Did you have to change something else?

EDIT---Never mind---I just turned off "live voicemail" in phone settings.

Is there a way to turn off the chime/noise that happens for a live voicemail starting? When my phone I isn’t silent and I don’t pick up a call, right before it shows the live voicemail on the screen it makes noise for the notification.

This is something you should definitely file feedback about. Some engineer (sorry engineers!) at Apple probably programmed in the greeting in a ham-handed twenty-something year old software engineer sort of way and its not the best possible greeting. Let them know that.

Will do---Done and sent

Hey, at least the voicemail didn't say "Dude....ummmmm....like, leave a message and ..... like....maybe I'll answer....dude..."

Thanks for the added info. I hadn't heard of this VM feature before, and never turned it on/off.

Also had to disable Live Voicemail because of the default greeting. Cool feature but not so much if you can only use the pre programmed greeting. I also tried to record a new one but had someone test it by calling me and it was still the pre programmed one.
