iOS 17 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Hi to everyone, again.

My share, Apple watch 5 always show “unable to get beta update” message. Unpairing my watch, correct it this time. Following the toggle off then on procedure (works in beta 2 but not in beta 3, for me). Btw, use the “saved backup” created by watch when ask during re-setup.

2nd, Lockdown Privacy app is more in compatible with beta 3 after its latest update. Unlike in beta 2, it’s juicing my Iphone12 ProMax battery. Still, it takes around 5% drain rate overnight after full charge, but it’s somehow more acceptable this time versus the protection it provides.

[UK] It looks like the DPD app is not yet compatible (I‘m sure it was ok in Beta 2).

I personally think this is more of a beef with Google and Apple not wanting us to have push Gmail in the Mail App, because this seems like something that could easily been fixed years ago.

Mail used to have push Gmail until about iPhone 4 I think it was maybe iPhone 5. It was because Gmail was using Exchange. On such-and-such date, Gmail stopped using Exchange push to new iPhones but would continue to allow it on the phone you had as long as the phone Exchange ID, I think, didn't change. Once that changed, push stopped and you got fetch.

I noticed this the other day. It is pretty cool until you want one item from each category then your list is like a CVS receipt 🤣

Hi. Keyboard is now much improved in beta 3 or i dare say here, it’s normal now.

About the battery category, for IP12ProMax user like me, if you’re not using Lockdown Privacy apps, it’s solid!

Battery last long without this app ( Lockdown).

Not sure what you mean but I've not seen anything and I've got a Nuki lock. Have you got any screenshots?

Ok so I know this seems like a dumb defect but it’s a very annoying defect at least to ME and possibly any other astronomy nerds out there. The Moon Phase widget sometimes displays the wrong phase. For example: today is a Waning Gibbous and it should be displayed like this 🌖 but it’s displayed as its inverse like this 🌔. Same for Full 🌕 as this 🌑, etc. small but very annoying. You have to restart to force a sync with the server. The Weather app is correct.

If anyone wants to file feedback, here’s my report - FB12542176 (Weather Widget: Moon Phases are incorrect).

Battery life much better....no bugs worth mentioning except, I have to wait for carplay to boot up before connecting to my phone---otherwise the music shows it's playing but there's no sound. A reconnect fixes it or I plug in after my head unit boots up. 2021 Rav4 Hybrid XLE

I spoke too soon:

Rebooted my phone now I have an annoying bug...when I go to reply to a text, the "text box" doesn't pop up unless I go back to the main message screen then back to the conversation. One other annoyance, when I select a photo or meme, then click "share", no one from recent texts pop up. It's always the same people that I sent a text from a few days earlier.

Finally got my AWU to update to b3 yesterday.
Now to start the dig.

Notifications has completely stopped. Almost. The only notification I am getting on my AWU is for Proton Mail. All are set to mirror my 13PM.

I'll update what I find.

Glad to hear Lockdown is better now, I'd disabled it since b1. Will give it another shot.

I can’t get over how bad the battery life is on beta 3. My 14 Pro has 100% battery health and this is brutal. Thinking of downgrading to iOS 16 and just going back to stable

Have you tried doing a Reset All Settings? It’s a bit of a hassle but might fix your issues.
