I have to admit, these are actually pretty good videos. Aaron is very thorough and is not one of those over the, top yelling and screaming about inconsequential features, type of YouTuber.

Off topic, well kind of, anyone struggling to install HomePod beta 3?

Downloads to my phone fine I just get grey scrolling wheels for ages and nothing instal after update all button.

If I quit the home app, and go back in the beta is still there ready to update.

Tried turning everything off and back on. Even redownloaded the beta. 🤷🏽

HomePod mini.

EDIT: classic, only thing I didn’t restart was the HomePod. All done!

Agreed! He is well-respected throughout the community. Apple needs to give him an invite for next year's WWDC24.

Okay - what happened?
iPad Pro 11 g4

Had an issue prior with the temp not showing up on the lock screen. The field would show a line - no temp.
Now that same lock screen widget, show location instead of temp. Date format changed also.

btw - my Lock Screen wallpaper has vanished.

Plus it’s not the first year where they’ve done this. These don’t really count in the scheme of things.

What a daft comment.

We’ve seen less issues in recent years than before. Back with iOS 10 or 11 (I forget which exactly) but there were some larger issues. Can’t blame that on people working from home.

My company has seen a huge increase in productivity and quality since people started working from home too.

I can't find dedicate iPadOS 17 beta thread, so I just use this one.
Never noticed it before, but listening to a radio today morning, I've noticed that for couple artists the thumbnails are changing. I've seen thumbnail animation before but never this kind of "slideshow". Anyway nice touch. Hope you guys won't tell me know, that this has been here since iPadOS15 😁😁😁

 
is it me, or is the Contact Photo & Poster feature still one giant mess?
  • There is place in Settings -> [Name] where you can tab on your profile picture to adjust it. This interface is however so unintuitive. It allows you create Contact Photo's and Posters and then assign it to you'r contact card or something, it took me half an hour to figure out how it actually works.
  • There is a place Settings -> Messages -> Share Name and Photo where you can can then tab on your profile picture to adjust it.
  • Then there is the same item in Settings -> Phone -> Share Name and Photo, but when you go there, there's only a single radio button and you can't adjust your Name and photo like you can in the messages setting.
  • Then there is a tab in the phone app where you can adjust it, but that interface is totally different from the one in the settings app. The one in the phone app allows a lot more customisation.
  • There is no such tab in the Messages app. Why would they allow you customise it from the Phone app, but not from the Messages app?
  • All in all everything seems really buggy, with Contact Photos and Posters randomly being created, duplicated or deleted. Colors are randomly reset to grey. Contact photos are not always properly aligned with the round crop area.
I really don't agree with Aaron Zollo on this that it seems to work flawlessly here. There is still a very long way from being finished.
