Where is the usual Zollotech video? I miss how he talks about that he uses the beta on his main iPhone and iPad. Or what has NOT changed since the last beta. Or how many of his followers use the beta. Or when the next beta will come out maybe. Seriously every video is the same why is anyone watching this
Maybe the one who always posts the videos gets a kickback or something from him. I agree with you on his videos, there are many other YouTubers I would rather listen to and explain the betas than him.

Well, I guess you watch it also. If you don’t like it, just don’t watch it. They are very explained videos, by the way, as he goes deep into the operating system.

so my 14 PM gets hot while using the apple magsafe battery pack on 17 B3 so hot it stops charging

[Edit] Nevermind. Don’t know why, but somehow the option to uninstall apps was disable on screen time when I installed b3. 😞

Folks, my apologies if that’s been covered already, but… it seems I cannot uninstall any of my apps.

I know it’s the standard post in here but blimey this beta is a battery killer

I’ve had zero severe issues on my 13 pro max. I’m travelling so hard to do a proper comparison ie using camera and data a lot but life seems normal. Similar in iPad Pro m1 and Apple Watch s8

Anyone else having issues with the actual dial pad in the actual phone app? Mine keeps freezing up to the point where I can't dial anyone's actual phone number. I can click on a contact and call them but if I can't type in an actual number on the dial pad.

I've done force quits, hard resets and reset network settings, and every tip I've seen online. As soon as the phone restarts, the keyboard will work fine but then if you go back into the app 2 or 3 minutes later, it's frozen again.

I have a 13 pro max and was on the latest developer beta. It was so bad that I decided to revert back to 16.5 earlier today. Everything was working fine there and then decided to give the public beta a whirl. Now I'm back to not being able to dial anyone's phone number from the actual phone app.

Anyone else having this problem or just me?

This forum is actually a very useful public service. I keep wanting to install the beta on my daily, then I come here and think best to wait.

All the new features sound fabulous but the myriad of bugs and performance issues would basically ruin my phone.

I have it on a spare iPhone and iPad but I never bother using those no time…I’m a one device kinda person with little spare time. I’d need the beta on my main device to reap the rewards.

Maybe in late August.

You checked restrictions under screen time settings?

I installed the beta yesterday on my 14 PM and so far I'm impressed. The only issues I've had so far are CarPlay went to a black screen on my car display, had to unplug and re plug in to get it to work again, when restarting or turning phone off when you turn back on the wallpaper doesn't show the picture, just has a black background (have to set it up again to work. Having a few issues with the new standby mode not working as it should. Reported them so hopefully gets resolved soon. I'm a mid to heavy user and for me the battery life is shockingly good. Like I said, I'm impressed with the beta this early on.

I go into the Beta's thinking this but then always ending up just going for it and just deal with the bugs and battery life for a few weeks.

In my experience, there's never been anything that would ruin the phone as such.

I only ever have one device; my daily phone

I’m usually on the same road…hearing about issues with CarPlay though makes it a nonstarter for me. I’d be ‘literally’ lost if that broke down whilst I was driving.

That illustrates how central a role my iPhone plays in my world.

Plus I have a new baby arriving tomorrow - imagine a camera bug popped up when trying to get a pic. My head would be on the chopping block.

Anybody notice max volumn is required to hear play pack of audio? I have to push the slider all the way up to max to hear midrange. and yes I set it to 125% in settings too.

One thing to remember, though, is that these beta threads are essentially highly distilled problem threads, meaning you are getting an unrealistic view of the actual situation. This is because generally only bugs and issues are reported here, with the 95%+ of users who don’t have any given issue remaining silent.

So, take these threads as directional warnings only about possible issues you might encounter.

But given your situation, you are taking the correct course nonetheless.

Still exactly the same half-arsed implementation it’s always been: SMS do not sync, iMessage do. Ridiculous decision, God(c) only knows why Apple decided to do this!
Has anyone been able to figure out where the bug is? In other words, if the iPhone stays on its current non-beta release.. do other iPads and Macs on the iOS 17 beta cycle correctly sync SMS texts from that iPhone?

It is not a bug. It is how Apple have designed it. This has always been the case. Apple are ‘kin stupid

Edit: looks like I’m wrong and it actually might be a (very long-standing) bug as it appears to work for a few people.
