Are you using a magsafe charger with stand? It needs to be in landscape mode as well, should come up automatically.
I have a non-MagSafe charger and stand and Standby works exactly the same as it does on my MagSafe setups.

24 hours later and this build feels great. Luckily I don’t use more than one Home Screen so I’m not experiencing any of those jitters being reported. I’ve just set up a custom greeting for my live voicemail but don’t have a second line to test until later this afternoon.

Also worth mentioning that aside from my dictionary insisting on inserting Illinois when I’m trying to type “I’ll“, the keyboard feels great. It’s so interesting to me how it’s a marked improvement for some and a downgrade for others. Third party keyboards suck on iOS so I’m glad they’re at least attempting to improve their own.

It’s still early for me so I can’t comment on battery life yet but having a 14PM kinda takes the worry out of that, especially for a light user such as myself. Bouncing around the OS triaging emails, reading the news, replying to texts/iMessages, typing here, etc., everything has been buttery smooth.

I hope the current trajectory continues but having been around the betas for a little while I’m fully familiar with the southward turns that can happen later in the cycle. My phone and watch are doing the beta thing while my iPad fills in as the backup should anything essential fail on my daily driver.

This was happening for me in iOS 16 too. I went into my watch notification settings and changed it from mirror iPhone and set watch-specific notifications. That’s been my workaround for months.
I tried this but still no luck. I appreciate the tip though!

Great articles! Everything new in iOS 17 Beta 4.

You work for the competitors? Why not link the Macrumors article on (checks notes) a Macrumors forum?

I’ve put the beta on a spare iPhone 12 Pro and iPad Pro. Runs quite well I must say. Certain tasks seem to be a bit slower like iCloud downloading in the Files app.

I think the beta is currently pretty usable. Definitely not anywhere near as solid as the shipping iOS 16 but it is an early beta so to be expected.

Fun for a test on a spare device. Best of luck to those who run on a main device though 🍀

No, I don't. MacRumors for Life!

I was thinking about doing that but didn't want to be redundant or make anyone mad or upset anyone. However, I have edited my post and included MacRumor's own article as a helpful guide. Thank you for your suggestion :)

I don’t see a way to rearrange iMessage apps so that more commonly used things (#images, for example) can be brought up into the options that appear as soon as you touch the plus sign.

Tap the +. Tap stickers. Scroll top row to the left all the way. Tap edit.

Battery life is still trash.

Not quite the dumpster fire that B3 was; this is more of a mound of tires filled with mosquito eggs.

Phone was charged to 100% exactly 24hrs ago.

4 hours OST 30mins idle.
Still got 40% battery left.

Chrome, Insta, Spotify, notes, you tube.

Feels pretty good and stress free to me.
iPhone 14 Pro.

Well I guess I finally have to sit down and report the share sheet issues with the Siri contact suggestions. Been putting it off with the hopes that it’ll get fixed, but I guess that ain’t happening.

Battery life is not stellar for me. On par with or perhaps slightly worse than beta 3. I know it’s early and it may improve.

Trying to resist the urge to put iOS 17 beta on my daily 😅 16.6 battery life has been horrible on my 14 PM. I know 17 beta will not fix my bad battery life, but the urge to run it is there.

The bug where the iCloud photo do not appear in the settings app, still persists. Going into iCloud and go back, makes it to appear. Reported!!

Battery life still not stellar = doesn't last 24 hours
Activity widget is finicky on the home screen and in standby mode (does not display)
Battery drain excessively with the use of Maps

I finally jumped on my 14pm daily. Been working flawless minus random animation stutters which don’t bother me. The auto correct is worth the jump alone lol

Battery Life definitely improved for me. Just shy of 12 hours off the charger at the moment.
