iOS 17 Beta 4 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Find My for my AirPods Pro 2 is not working very well. It keeps telling me I left them behind even when I have them; I have to open the case to get it to recognize that they’re with me. The precision finding and playing sound never works. Only started with beta 4.

Also CarPlay doesn’t seem to connect with lightning 90% of the time, especially if the phone is locked when I plug it in. Also only started with beta 4.

I use a 13 mini

Dont get me wrong I like battery to last too. And when there is a dramatic drop not real happy about it. But the post I was referring to was complaining that their device battery won't last 24 hrs now. Thats a bit different.

I don’t think that’s correct. I think the rain dripping down the pane was also in iOS 16.

Edit: or maybe I’m misremembering. Does anyone else recall?

You're one of the people I learned about this from actually back in the beta 1 thread. I wasn't sure myself so I double checked on iOS 16 before posting:

Sounds like a problem that could go away with IPSW reinstall. I don’t see many complains about this problem here so you may want to give it a shot. Few minutes work and you could end up fixing the problem.

I just downloaded it on my iPhone 14 pro.

So far the contact photos isn’t working. It’s not allowing me to set it up.

Currently took iPhone off charger at 88 percent.
The keyboard seems like it is not as responsive.

From what I've noticed in this thread is the iPhone 14"s seem to be more likely with the worse battery issues. Just an observation but interesting non-the-less. Thought since they only use E-sim in the US anyway that there could be a connection. Both my 13's are great on battery.

I have lost 13 percent in the last hour and I’ve also been using only Facebook
 
Sterling testing work going on here - well done guys 🌟

Looks like there are still a lot of very random bugs in beta 4. Still very much a lottery how many ‘hard restarts’ are needed for everyone to temporarily quash bugs.

I really didn’t appreciate how smooth and reliable the iOS 16 release is until the 17 betas hit. Actually making me enjoy the user experience a lot more.

Fingers crossed that beta 5 is much closer to being solid in every way 🤞🏻

Please report it to Apple, as these are quite significant bugs. 🖐️

Same issue here I can't use precision finding (it just says 'Far' all of the time) and the device location seems to be a bit random. iPhone thinks they're with me 'now' Mac thinks they are at home '2 hr ago'

Not having any issues with CarPlay though, that works fine for me.
