I had an issue with this beta (incoming Facetime video calls weren't working properly) so decided to do the IPSW thing. No point asking Jesus or reading his earlier posts, because how hard can it be.

1. Google IPSW for iOS 17beta for iPhone 11 - find a search hit to Apple's site, and download it
2. opt-upgrade on Finder
3. Profit

Except ... I didn't bother checking *which* beta I'd downloaded. Things went screwy. All my widgets refused to load, Focus modes dead, wallpaper dead. And, worse, I had to unlock my phone as if I had an alphanumeric code instead of a purely numeric one. I unlock by muscle memory. Almost locked myself out! Anyway, got in, two hard reboots, no better.

Decided to check for updates.

Got one. How come? Well, I had put B1 on top of B5. Surprisingly, after putting B5 back on everything was totally fine! Well, apart from the original Facetime issue which came back. Decided to reset my caller's contact photo and that seems to have fixed it.

“How hard can it be” 😆😂

I had this a few times on B3+4.

Not tested on a journey yet for B5, will give it ago when I pick my boy from nursery.

I have not noticed it in the two previous betas (PB1-2), so in my case it is definitely PB3-related. Feedback submitted, let’s see if they fix it next week. 🖐️

I noticed in iPhone 11 (beta 5) sometimes long response to unlock phone via faceID anyone have the same?

Sometimes it does not surprise at all, sometimes it takes a long time to "load"

After a few days on beta 5 in the iPhone 14 Pro Max the only slightly irksome issue I’m experiencing is that my Photos app is no long identifying people in new photos I’ve taken.

Anyone else seeing this? I’m sure it’ll right itself in the next betas.
Oh just as I mentioned the Photos issue it has begun to fix itself.

I’m betting it’s just updates to the facial recognition system in the OS…was likely reindexing all the pics.

Today I was on a call with my 14 Pro Max running beta 5 and doing some other stuff on my phone during the call.
When I was done doing stuff, I wanted to turn my screen off while still being on the call and however, I could not do that! The press of the side button was ignored. No chance to turn the screen of. Weird. 😐

My calls app has a red circle notification on it that won’t go away, anyone else?
This has to be the most annoying bug in beta 5. I’ve experienced no real bugs since beta 1 on 14 pro max and now 5 betas in Apple introduce this. Very bizarre. Permanent voicemail alert even though I don’t have one and nothing makes it go away.

Have someone call and leave you one.
Then delete it.
Them.
Both.
The bloody dot.

Thanks. Just did that and deleted the message left. The dot is still there grhh! At least I know I’m not the only one who has experienced this. Roll on the next beta!

Are you talking about the voicemail symbol shows you have a voicemail or several? If so, I had this and then had to activate "live mail". The messages showed up, unread---I deleted them and the voicemail note or "number" is gone.

Why does Always On Display keep getting worse with each update?

I just want to have this damn phone as a clock at night, but now it seems to shut off as soon as I turn the lights out where it used to just turn off to conserve battery (even while it is sitting on the damn charger!!)

AOD is pissing me off, I have no idea why they do not just have a true option to keep it on.

Are you using Sleep Schedule in the Health app or the sleep focus mode? If so, those will cause you AOD to go dark during sleep hours.

Cuz you’re supposed to be sleeping not watching your phone!

How do people get these system sounds? Asking because I’d really love the AirPods ones, specifically the adaptive audio one.

Since updating to the latest PB I'm having issues with face ID when unlocking. At times I get an odd spinning wheel type icon and phone won't unlock. Im quite certain this is a glitch but still cleaned the lens just in case. Problem remains.

Is anyone else getting this?

This issue started with iOS 16. Idk wtf Apple did but they really messed up AOD. Device for some reason around 10pm or later starts to go black completely. I’ve submitted multiple bug reports about this and still having this issue with iOS 17

Do you have either the Sleep focus mode or Sleep Schedule (from the Apple Health app) turned on? Both will cause the AOD to go dark during scheduled sleep hours.
