iOS 17 Beta 6 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Mine are working as usual on both 13 and 13 mini

Carrot widget also working for me - NO blank white blocks… however, both B5 and now B6, the temperature does not update. A hard reboot fixes it for a while, at least until the temp changes again. I continue to load all of the TestFlight updates, but the temp thing remains.

I am having just two issues: 1. In iPad and iPhone under storage my system data has gone up to over 1gb on reach device whereas before this upgrade it was in the range of 10-15mbs.
2. Also in storage there is something new.... Synced content. I downloaded 26gbs of music via itunes from my PC and now I am seeing two similar amounts one for Music of 26 gbs sand one in synced of 26gbs in storage.

What is the reason for the synced content abs how can I remove it.

I find it funny of your concern about system storage going from a few mbs to only 1gig. I have spent the last few years with 40+ gbs of system storage. It’s finally at a reasonable level of around 10-12gbs. Not saying your concerns aren’t valid but just so you know. 1gb is on the low side of what most people have. And a few mbs is unheard of.

Whenever you see something like this, mentally bookmark it and then see if it points to some new iPhone feature when the new phones are announced.

In certain cases this makes sense, but I guess in this widget and maybe "End call" button it has nothing to do with upcoming iPhones.

Also for some reason Music app doesn’t work anymore. It’s just loading forever.

I just experienced this as well. And songs stop playing randomly. This is on device or while using CarPlay.

Using a 3rd party dongle, but no, no problems here.

When I first installed public beta 4, Apple Music worked but when playing back via airplay, the songs would occasionally stutter. After a phone reboot, the Apple Music app wouldn’t show anything on the first two tabs and wouldn’t play any music in my library. Another restart later and Apple Music is working again but still occasional stutters in airplay.

I’ve done about 3 restarts and reinstalled the app - still same. Filed a bug report.

I was getting stutter in pockets casts playing to my Bluetooth Jlab earbuds.

Actually I have no idea. I didn’t know it was there until you mentioned it. I see it on my phone though. The description says, “Media content synchronized from your computer”. Not exactly sure what that would be.

2017 Mazda 3 with an AliExpress “OEM Mazda style” front USB hub with wireless CarPlay retrofitted, I hate to be that guy, but I am not having issues with wireless CarPlay. I did notice once or twice it took way longer to connect and pair, but, it eventually did … (when I got to my destination, haha)

I also feel like the battery life has improved a bit on my iPhone 12 (89% battery health). On beta 3-4-5 I was barely getting 4 hours of SOT out of a full charge, now it seems to be closer to 5 hours. But it's still early since the update.

This has been going on since beta 1 for me, didn’t happen on beta 6 yet. I can’t reproduce the issue easily though.

Same here. I don't have now to charge my iPad twice a day. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong and we have the same battery life on the public release🤞

Updated my 13 Pro Max from 16.6 to this beta and gonna be honest it works pretty well. There are some stutters here and there, especially when scrolling but nothing major.
CarPlay works fine except one navi app but that's probably because it's not optimized for iOS 17 yet.
The phone heats up a lot when browsing through photos but it was doing the same on 16.6

Tripping my thoughts on how awful Apple’s slide to type (guidepost) is. Hours they can still have it perform ties badly after several parts of development absolutely enrages me. And it still defaults to property names without any reason for doing so

It’s funny to me that Albums in the Photos Widget is listed prominently in the What’s New, but I’ve never seen it mentioned by Apple. Anyway, always happy yo see improvements to Photos and Albums seems like a great one!
