Updated to this Public beta last night, it's notably smoother than PB 4. Phone isn't getting warm, battery has definitely improved and CarPlay issues have been resolved too! another beta or two and im confident this will be one of the most stable releases in a long time!

One thing I have noticed - have apple removed the ability to scrub through videos by tapping anywhere on the screen and dragging across? It's not working for me at all.

@Banglazed you seeing this on the forum?

You can’t attach an image with Safari or Chrome iOS. And Chrome MacOS.

But you can with Safari MacOS.

I don’t have a mod address for anyone at MacRumors, are you able to pass this on?
Was able to post pic in another thread using iOS 17 b7 and Tapatalk... but not from Ventura 13.5 and Safari... might be an issue with the forum software... reported in another thread that mods/admin are investigating.

iOS 17db7
When selecting Music in the Settings app, the selection darkens, but that's it.
Restarts don't fix it.
Submitted via Feedback Assistant.
Edit: turns out my Music app won’t play anything, whether I go through Artists, Songs, Playlists - Shuffle and Play buttons do nothing.

Really? There are well over 350+ features compared to iOS 16. In addition, iOS 17 seems way more stable and refined compared to last year's iOS 16.

I'll take stability and performance over new half-baked features any day.
My friend I love this video that 9 to 5 Mac made. I refer my iPhone friends to watch it. But it’s over 2 hours long. And we thought that there was not going to be anything new in iOS 17!!
But you mentioned the most important update in iOS 17. And that is that it works. You will remember I believe how much trouble I had with getting iOS 16 to work. Now that is all gone.

Pretty smooth for me so far. Battery life hasn't been the greatest, was getting better battery on 16.6 with my 14 PM.
Announce notifications with siri when wearing AirPods is a little iffy with beta 7, it tends to get pretty loud when activated.

CarPlay was bricked for me by Beta 5.. hoping this resolves it for me too

Interesting, I am heavily using CarPlay since beta 4. I drove over 2500 km since then and I've run into 2 minor issues.
1. CarPlay disconnected after phone became hot, but I didn't report it as it happened only once.

2. I think since beta 5, the North in the Apple Maps got locked and the arrow representing car, wasn't always pointing up, which IMHO is worse for drive orientation, but not a deal breaker.

I could set the directions from the CarPlay Calendar App, I was comparing the directions between Google Maps and Apple Maps and both were showing effective. Maps also diverge me twice from the original road when 2 major traffic jams occurred while I was driving. I was using Siri to set coordinates via voice commands (not quite accurate but I blame my accent ;)). Adding route stops during a ride worked flawlessly, also I've had no issues with reporting hazard situations, etc.

I am always installing from IPSW, if it is worth mentioning.

Still having the issue where 3rd party apps are taking up more data/storage very fast. Was hoping it would get fixed by now 🙁. Used YouTube for not even an hour and it’s almost at 1gig of storage use.
Before I upgraded from iOS 16 to the 17 B6 I actually saw your comment and checked some of the apps how many space they're taking and I don't know how it happened but after the update instagram went literally from 2gb to almost 6 and the overall free space on my iPhone went down from 50gb to 10?
I literally deleted videos, photos, some apps to free up some space and it's filling it up by itself so there has to be something weird happening.

Also - this beta feels really smooth. I still had some stutters here and there but it's definitely better than B6.
Battery is trash for me, as it was on B6 and on iOS 16.6. Actually I think it's worse than 16.6 so I'm hoping there will be improvements to that.

My 13PM was heating quite a lot on B6 and I think it might be better on this beta, but still not perfect.
