My goodness. iOS seems a messed up house where if we plug a toaster in the kitchen, a toilet gets clogged and the hall window opens by itself. 😂
tbf software is one hell of a blackhole.
I remember troubleshooting instagram not getting push notifications back on iOS 14, after half a year, I read on reddit someone fixed it by enabling notification emails......
Not sure if this bug has been fixed yet - try a simpler home screen background, like a gradient. Completely fixed the stuttering for me on 14 Pro Max when nothing else would help. I have also noticed that shift + IPSW update helps with system smoothness compared to OTA but it could also be me just imagining things.

I don't see that feature existing in 17.0. They have until next year so it's probably coming in 17.3 or something similar.
Pretty much all of the fixed stuff appeared in Beta 6. This changelog is cumulative, not fresh for every release.
You will still feel it then. I’d say it’ll be even more important once they make that change.
Data Roaming toggle switches OFF after Beta installations
I have noticed that after installing the latest two Public Betas (21A5312c and 21A5319a), the Data Roaming toggle in Settings > Mobile Service turns OFF, effectively disabling the data roaming. Switching the toggle back to ON restores data roaming.
Anyone else? 🤔

Scared of what? DDOS protection is normal. I got it on my laptop too. I use CloudFlare for my own websites and I could easily go turn this feature on and you'd see the same thing on those sites too -- it doesn't mean your device is buggy or anything like that.
This doesn't necessarily mean it's caused by PB5. If anyone is still on an older beta and would like to test, it may simply be a website problem.
Can you check if it works for you? Could you try attaching an image to your posts here?
It seemed to work, I am on the latest beta on MBP 14" M2 Max. I think I saw the same problem earlier though, so I don't know why it works now.
We agree that a REBOOT sometimes helps. There is a difference between a reboot and a "pull the plug reboot" unless you have to, was my point and Apples supporting documentation seems to support that. I don't see in the email where craig says to "pull the plug" (hard restart ). Perhaps nothing will ever get corrupted doing it that way but not sure why Apple would have a normal reboot if they were exactly the same. Again just my opinion after more than 30 years in technology support. Its all good though man!! Good debate.
My closing thoughts: How I see it is we have two reboot styles. One is cosmetically more attractive than the other using the slide.
And the other, is for when your screen freezes up. Which you would need because the slide option would be redundant. Both reboot the software.
If it was damaging to the iPhone to reboot/hard restart at any given point… I’m pretty sure a warning box would pop up for you to “continue” on warning you that the indexing process needed to finish or something along those lines.
I’ve rebooted/hard restarted my iPhone after every update and never has this had any negative effect on my phone, but positive.
It’s great to share thoughts and experiences to hopefully educate and better us users and help people understand this tech. Top debate 👍🏼
I don't have it enabled, but apart from deleting cookies one thing to test would be to turn off the feature that pulls all images through Apple's own servers in order to hide your IP address from trackers.
(I don't like that feature as Apple automatically downloads all images which sends the info back to the sender that your email address is a valid one, even if it does remove your IP address/location.)
