Awesome thanks guys! Is that the best way to go? I want to get off the betas and just get the public releases moving forward
Best way is set the public beta switch on. That will stop early developer betas from downloading. Once you get the RC, toggle it off as well to stop ALL betas. But at this point either one is really fine and will be the same. Get you the RC and you can then turn off.

Another bug i've discovered in RC across multiple devices, is that when you open your Apple ID in Settings, then open Subscriptions, now if you swipe back to the main Apple ID Page where you can scroll down to see all your logged in Devices, you actually cannot swipe all the way down anymore, unless you re-open the Settings app.

Reproduceable on all iOS 17 devices, at least on my end.
I was able to reproduce it on my 12PM. Do you have a Feedback id to share? I'll mention it in my Feedback. Cheers

Well so far today, battery life was bad (never have those issues really) and missed pretty much every notification with that new, (un-changeable) notification tone that is TOO quite while in pocket. :( Sent feedback to turn the on/off switch back to a selectable option. Disappointed with that tone as my cameras notify me at night if they detect movement and I will never wake to that tone. Guess will have to get some other device to wake me up if there is movement in driveway.

Same experience with the new sounds. They are calming and pleasant but hard to hear. I’m still giving them a chance while I increase the volume.

Going to leave it on charge overnight again and see if it happens.
Crossing fingers as I have a number with people and pets.

Turned off DND and Sleep. Put it in my office.

For me it’s “People, Pets & Places”. It shows up at the bottom of my Albums tab

That's pretty lame; I mean the phone is plugged in? There's no need to be power efficient.

It really smells like Apple is using this to sell newer iPhones. I was already going to upgrade this year so this will then be solved soon but it feels slimy.
It’s mirroring the functionality of the Apple Watch nightstand mode, it doesn’t stay on all the time either. Honestly, Standby works great with the bedtime alarm feature. Kicks right in just like the watch does.

But as a desk display it’s not great since it shuts off. Totally agree there.

finally they fixed all those bugs that really bothered me in IOS 16. It’s only a shame, I suffered from these bugs for a whole year, the 16th version is the worst of all that there was, don’t buy an iPhone at the start of sales, like I did.

Looks like the RC still have some beta components. I am unable to rate apps on the store, it says I have a pre-release version.

The funny thing is that all these bugs are still present in iOS 16.7rc

Is there any way I can clean install this? I want to start fresh.

Is it the same process as installing any other iOS version using a Mac?

Yep, I can see the new notification sound causing a little commotion. I like that it's quieter but it's very subtle compared to before. Hopefully they give us more customization.

I guess after getting a little more used to the new sound, our brains will distinguish it more easily from the noise.

It's funny though how various established youtubers (hello MKBHD) would swear by their mother that no one uses ringtones and sounds anymore and we absolutely don't need them, yet here we are - one of the most exciting things in this release is the new sounds :)

I cannot download for offline translation the languages in the stock Translate app. Do you have that problem too?

Apple Maps

My "Home" address is no longer appearing under quick access in Apple Maps. I always have to manually search for "Privat" for it to appear. Quite annoying, especially if you are already driving and you want to quickly start home navigation.

Manual search shows it:

I tried adding it manually as a "favourite" but the button simply does nothing. Just keeps showing "add as favourite" all over again

On the 1 page of this thread at the top is a guide.

Or if you want to erase everything and start fresh, do an encrypted back up first, Hold down option and then select RESTORE… this will let you select the RC IPSW file then erase and restore that specific iOS.

Otherwise it will restore back to the last official released build - iOS 16.6 I think.

Isn't it that the maps have to "learn" where your home is?
I don't see it on mine either now.

Anyone else not receiving email notifications? All is set correctly and Im receiving notifications from other apps..
Seems that Im only getting the notifications if it appears in the lock screen as well

Yes, I have quite a few custom ringtones synced and was able to use them before for ringtones or alert tones. iOS 17 only recognizes them as ringtones now, can’t access them for alerts.
But they do still show up in the list ? I only have custom ringtones for the family .

Thank you so much! Why should I encrypt my backup?
