iOS 17 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

In iOS 17.0 RC, unable to add a contact from inside WhatsApp by clicking a contacts card received in a conversation.
Error message "Whatsapp doesn't have access to your contacts", upon opening the contacts card received in WhatsApp and clicking "Add to Existing Contact" in WhatsApp.
This error did not occur in iOS 16.6.1 and earlier.

I don't get it, how can they not see and fix something so obvious that was already in iOS 16. It's a bug that everyone can see, how can something like this not be a priority! Can someone please explain it to me?

I haven't noticed that bug. I don't even know what it is.
 
A few days after installing 17RC on my 11 Pro Max and it seems the battery consumption has eased and settled down a little. Likely finished all background computations & indexing etc. never going to be the best given BH is 81%. Performance is surprisingly good for this 4 year old beast, better than beta 8. Flies through the OS and apps with no problems other than some random heating up at times.

I don’t understand it. Since the betas I have a network problem. I have a connection to WiFi and cellular but not to the internet. I have to restart twice a day.

Not a lot is missing from what I can tell. Gesture/reactions in FaceTime is the only non-accessibility feature that appears to be unavailable.

Accessibility wise Personal Voice and Point and Speak require iPhone 12.

It's funny though how various established youtubers (hello MKBHD) would swear by their mother that no one uses ringtones and sounds anymore and we absolutely don't need them, yet here we are - one of the most exciting things in this release is the new sounds :)

I do LOVE the new tones, but honestly.. for years my iPhone has been on mute

Others do tho, and they have some cool ones to choose from! I wish I could get the iPhone to only use tones when I want them in much more fine-tuned way. Until then, my iPhone must remain muted.. ugh, and I played those tones for others so proud of 'em =)))

For me it just appeared, I didn’t set anything, just open the remote feature on the iPhone and click on the name on top, at one side it appears as find. (I have the latest aptv with the beta also)

Perhaps that is because What’s App is not yet updated for iOS 17.

So surely that’s an app update not iOS.

Once the official release is out I’m sure all these will be addressed.

Router updated its firmware so it’s seems likes it’s iOS?

Got a device not on betas to test?

At home I turn off private WiFi Address, saves hassle with routers.

Silly thing, but have you restarted your router recently? I always forget this one because they just sit there so out the way and as along as that blue lights on you take it for granted things are working smoothly.
 
I’ve noticed this message is turning up more frequently when taking my 11PM off charge since installing 17RC. Anyone else?

Charging only with lightning cable & 18w apple charger, always out of the case when charging. Didn’t feel hot in hand & happening more since 17RC install.
 
Quick question - my phone heats up, battery is worse and performance is laggy compared to 16.6. Would you recommend a factory reset and fresh install? Would it make a difference? I did my iPad and it kinda got better (it might be placebo) but I am still unsure. It will take longer than iPad because of banking apps, downloaded music etc. which were not the case for iPad.

Is Airdrop over internet implemented? I just tested it with a friend and it failed when I got too far away.
