Battery
So far not the greatest. Still early though and have to see how all is post launch date.
I am bummed that my Battery Health has dropped another point. It has dropped more during 17 than iOS 15 and 16 combined. Bigger issue is I am using it less! Android for my main and moved my work stuff off of it and onto a ThinkPhone. Concerning. Down to 91% BH.

Haptic
Haptic is acting odd. The intensity seems to vary where it is being used and it is no longer smooth, almost as if it is trying to pulse. It does make it easy to tell which device it vibrating ;)

more to come …

Anyone having trouble sharing AirTags? When I try, I keep getting an error that I can’t share the due to an unexpected error.

Interestingly, the person I'm trying to share with is able to share their tags with me, just not the other way around.

Battery is not the best for my 14 Pro on this RC. Also it gets occasionally hot. Never had this heat issue on iOS 16. Hope it’s just an RC thing and that there’s a new updated build for launch day.

This is my standby screen unless I unlock my phone.
After I unlock the phone it displays my chosen widgets, but then it locks and goes back to what's pictured.
I did an ISPW install of the RC, no luck.

Edit - I Reset All Settings and all's well, for now.

Yep, haptic feedback is broken. I actually noticed it first in Microsoft Outlook; I always like to feel the "ping" the phone gives me when an email is sent or meeting created. Now I get either nothing, or something so light I can barely feel it. 14 Pro.

What app on your phone wouldn’t want to update to iOS 17 SDK? And if an app doesn’t do updates much and has lazy development, you got to ask yourself is it really worth having it on your phone potentially causing issues.

Surely, surely Apple makes it super easy to update to the new kit? Just like we update a whole operating system at a click of a button. That just seems like common sense to me.
Sorry Pearsey but that is quite an ignorant comment. Many games never get updated. Many app developers have disappeared but their apps still perform a vital function. My Linksys webcam is controlled by one. My underfloor heating is controlled by an app that has not been updated for 3 years. Sky+ is no longer updated, Swann security camera software has not been updated for 4 years although the kit is still sold. Panasonic TV apps don’t get updates. apple’s own Airport control has not been updated for 3 years. In my experience most home control apps do not seem to get updated just because of a new SDK.

Join the club, buddy. Beta 1 finally dropped me from 100 to 99, and now I’m at 90. 😂
Wow, that is not good at all . is it possible to be better once the public release is out ?
i have turned off optimized battery charging from day one though .

I’m having an issue I have had the last 3 or 3 betas. iPhone 14 pro max on silent when timer goes off it vibrates and uses audio first beta I had the same issue with live voice mail but that was fixed on the 2nd or 3rd developer beta.

Have the features been worth it ?

Or very samey next to iOS 16?
Well, if you’re not a fan of doing some sort of customizations and you don’t care about contact posters and new ringtones, then it’s absolutely the same. The only two things I found really cool were StandBy and NameDrop. Other than that there’re also some small refinements across the system and that’s it. Nothing major this year 🙁

Hello.
since dev beta1 no really big problems. but now on my ip12pro and RC installed, no third party app settings are visible inside the settings app. even it is not possible to jump into any third party settings via the search field. i deactivated the screen time code for some restrictions, but nothing worked...

14 Pro Max and no battery impact whatsoever. As others mentioned if it weren’t for a couple splash screens that come up when you first launch certain apps I wouldn’t even know this is new software, for me very few differences from 16. But I do like standby mode and have used it every night so far.

Can anyone else confirm that updating from iOS 16.x to iOS 17 RC (or any newer Beta) clears the Screen-on Time data from the devices?

I've updated both my i11 Pro and 14 Pro, and all my previous Screen Time data before the update have been cleared.

Is this normal, and how it should've been?
