Hello.
since dev beta1 no really big problems. but now on my ip12pro and RC installed, no third party app settings are visible inside the settings app. even it is not possible to jump into any third party settings via the search field. i deactivated the screen time code for some restrictions, but nothing worked...
You should perform a "reset all settings". That is known to resolve lots of strange issues such as you have mentioned. It leaves your data intact but you do have to set settings back up like you want them, add back Wi-Fi networks etc. Not too bad though and can be done in a few minutes. To be clear this in NOT an "erase and restore" option but simply resets settings to the new iOS version defaults.

I Reset All Settings and it fixed a StandBy problem I was having. I remembered to set everything except my alarm. 😁

Anyone getting very bad frame drops around the home screen and lock screen and when doing the return to home gesture? Haven't had this issue before the RC but it's been very choppy on the 13 since the RC.

By the way, does "reset all settings" still mess up the home screen and put all icons in random order? Or doesn't that happen anymore? I remember it did that to me years ago and it took me hours to fix it...

Since I jumped on the beta train I've had a bug. Can someone please test and say whether you also have the same bug? Settings -> General, the 'Fonts' position is only displayed a short time later after I open the "General" page.

Here's a video to show you what I'm talking about. It's not a big problem, I just wanted to know if it's just me or others too.

RC is Worst quality system update ever. Numerous safari glitches including black screen Facebook videos. iPhone kills apps in background quickly, losing continuity and sometimes data.

Well, if you’re not a fan of doing some sort of customizations and you don’t care about contact posters and new ringtones, then it’s absolutely the same. The only two things I found really cool were StandBy and NameDrop. Other than that there’re also some small refinements across the system and that’s it. Nothing major this year 🙁

Thanks that's not really much :/

That's not true - camera is better, messages ui is better, pets in photos are cool, and those various "small refinements" add up to overall a very fine release.

Don't rely on some internet people's opinion - at the very least read the iOS 17 page on Apple site and/or check some what's new videos on YouTube

No need to worry, there will be 89 iOS 17.x releases to address existing bugs and create new ones!

/s
Do you whine about the lack of feature updates too? Development means bugs. iOS 17 is a rock solid release.

Exactly. We’re at a state of maturity with iOS that doesn’t lend to major upgrades and I for one welcome the added stability and small quality of life improvements.

Whos ready for the public release of IOS 17?

Who's upgrading and who's waiting for 17.1?

Im thinking im going to wait at least a week
I’m waiting at least until 17.2, and see how it goes, especially if they manage to solve the battery life issues.

On my supported devices, an iPad 9 and an M2 iPad Pro, tomorrow I’ll update them to 16.6.1 before iPadOS 17 gets released. And stay there until I see the system is stable enough.

On my iPhone 8 either I stay at 15.7, or I update to 16.7 whenever it gets released, if it improves the efficiency. On my 2014 Mac, I’ll stay on Monterey.

13 ProMax
Mail > iCloud Mail

The badge (unread) numbers being incorrect is back. Again.

The badge is saying “x” and when you open the app it shows the same however the actual number of Inbox unread is different.
Add to this the Junk folder count. I am finding the Junk account is also wrong until you enter it.

You would think this would be easy to fix.

Looks a boring update tbh, so no, I won’t be rushing to update. Will wait until at least 17.1 is released just in case there are any concerning issues with iOS 17.

Not happening for me. Badges show correct number of unread in both inbox and junk folders. 14PM ISPW install.
Maybe delete mail accounts, delete mail app, hard restart phone, reinstall app and accounts will possibly fix it for you?

Did that. Everything but delete Mail.
My 13PM is an ipsw install and only has iCloud mail in it.
Had this issue in 16 and at the start of 17. Now it’s back with RC.

You mentioned that the camera is better. In what way is it better? Camera quality both HEIF and ProRAW? I’m a photographer and I shoot with my 14 pro max all the time. I’d like to see different camera software boost image quality.

Maybe try it with deleting the Mail app? Just trying to come up with a solution for you 👍

Edit - I had a couple of frustrating years with the stock email app not working properly. It seems some folk can’t get rid of the badge issue. However I’ve never had that one, rather the app wouldn’t update without manually forcing an update. Went on for nearly two years……

How do I download the RC IPSW when I have a free dev account?
I'm trying to restore my phone.

Thanks in advance
