Yeah that’s not super uncommon. It’s 1pm PST / 4pm EST, which certainly happens from time to time.

not if apple thinks it is not ready... or there is something hidden in the release for the products being announced next week.

With an RC release last week, I think we can assume Apple believes it's ready and there isn't any hidden code.
