Although it’s appealing the EU’s decision, Apple will still need to comply with the rules by March 6th while its appeal is processed, Bloomberg previously reported.
Apple announces changes to iOS, Safari, and the App Store in the European Union

Just described as available in March.
Are people basing this on the following rumor:
The only thought to go with that is devs have adequate time to learn, implement these new options available today.Right now, assuming a 2 week (likely 12 day) interval between beta 1 and 2 followed by 1 week release intervals, that works out to 4 betas + a release candidate before a public release on most likely March 4. I don’t see any reason why this would need to be pushed out any farther than that.

I have faith in the development community that they can master this in the roughly 6-7 weeks between now and March 4th.
well then why was 16.4 released on the 27th last year? usually they try to keep their releases on the same timelineRight now, assuming a 2 week (likely 12 day) interval between beta 1 and 2 followed by 1 week release intervals, that works out to 4 betas + a release candidate before a public release on most likely March 4. In this case, the European Union has set a deadline and it is exceedingly unlikely that Apple is going to thumb their nose at that and risk a large fine by missing that deadline by two weeks. They certainly aren’t going to do so because their beta schedule doesn’t meet the expectations of some poster on MacRumors forums.
Too many posters on this site rely on feelings and emotions when making predictions about the timing of future releases.
Stick with data. You won’t be sorry.
One of the reasons is that they released the first beta of 16.4 almost a month late (around mid-February) when compared to the first beta of 17.4. Therefore, the schedule for the following beta and public releases also shifted.well then why was 16.4 released on the 27th last year? usually they try to keep their releases on the same timeline
17.4 appears to be a major update shows next gen Carplay, gamer mode, some association with new upcoming iPad design. Apple says devs can now submit apps for game streaming services. That means Xbox Game Pass streaming and GeForce Now, for example, will no longer need to be accessed through frustrating progressive web apps. Other changes are podcast transcription and Siri translation changes so you can work with multiple languages messages you receive. One of the reasons is that they released the first beta of 16.4 almost a month late (around mid-February) when compared to the first beta of 17.4. Of course, there are likely even more reasons why they did it. As mentioned above by one of the forum users - stick with data. This year we are likely to get 17.4 on the 4th/5th of March.
I love headlines like this one!
iOS 18 Potentially 'Biggest' Software Update in iPhone's History
Apple has big plans for iOS 18, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. In the subscriber-only Q&A section of his Power On newsletter today,...www.macrumors.com
The same crap is peddled out every single year isn’t it? And each year it is just another iterative upgrade full of bugs!
Beg to differ. Gurman usually is pretty accurate in his iOS predictions. He’s never said anything remotely like this before.
I hope you are both right. However I bet you aren’t.
We (you and I) could both be right. It might have groundbreaking new features and design and still not work right!
Unless you subscribe there is only the Q&A questions. Nothing in article that is news really. Same rumors and speculation about EU changes.I love headlines like this one!

Yup, every iphone is the "Best iphone yet" and every iOS release is the "Best release so far" But in reality its tiny incremental changes that Apple keeps feeding us to keep us on the hamster wheel. The same crap is peddled out every single year isn’t it? Alternative idea. It might not only come at 10 gigs, but also drop support for iPhones starting from Xs to 13 Series and be the biggest device support drop in iPhone history🤣Sorry to burst any bubbles, but...
...It might also just come in at 10 gigs, THE BIGGEST SOFTWARE UPDATE in iPhones history! and still be true to headline 🤣😆
Most likely tomorrow thou.Hoping for watchOS and macOS today.
