Right but I’m pretty sure that’s what the poster meant. That’s nothing to so with iOS 17 though. That’s on the developers and iOS 17 isn’t going to change that, as they can support it on iOS 16.

Is tomorrow the 12th?Thought we’d see the rc or beta 9 today since tvOS got updated yesterday.
Oh well, see ya tomorrow!
I don’t go near twitter with a barge pole and I don’t know how that relates to my post you replied to?You probably saw this posted this late Tuesday.
As you can see the rumor mill just threw in an another curve ball to speculate about, after the iPhone event, overnight store updates . . . go figure?
It's a rumor that Apple even after iPhone/watch event will be doing a lot of changes to their web site during the night. It could pertain as stated to new marketing, or more to when all the OS's become available. BTW that is from Mark Gurman (Bloomberg ) not your usual twitter aka X source.I don’t go near twitter with a barge pole and I don’t know how that relates to my post you replied to?
And..................? Let's all bow down to Mark Gurman. Does he work for Apple? He knows nothing. It's a rumor that Apple even after iPhone/watch event will be doing a lot of changes to their web site during the night. Well, “he knows nothing”, but his information appears sometimes (not always) to be true. That’s why I’d say that he is a source to rely on.And..................? Let's all bow down to Mark Gurman. Does he work for Apple? He knows nothing.
Fair comment 👍🏻Well, “he knows nothing”, but his information appears sometimes (not always) to be true. That’s why I’d say that he is a source to rely on.
At the same time, we should keep in mind that certain leaked things are subject to change, if Apple decides to do so for whatever reason.
For someone who knows "nothing" he seems remarkably well informed. I suspect some of things he gets wrong were either planted info or changed after the fact (not necessarily as a reaction to his leak). He doesn't get it all correct, but he's the best at this of anyone.And..................? Let's all bow down to Mark Gurman. Does he work for Apple? He knows nothing.
Well said. I too have a feeling on September 12th Apple Stores will be putting marketing materials around the store. Apple may receive new USB-C ports along with other new accessories. For someone who knows "nothing" he seems remarkably well informed. That said, the work being done at Apple stores may simply be marketing materials being installed for the launch of the iPhone 15 line. Doesn't necessarily imply any "secret" new products coming.
Since the iPhone is the among the last products to get USB-C port, it a big yawn for most people. Even the WiFi 6 vs 6E vs 7 is beating a dead horse of sorts. Same with bluetooth standards. Now if Apple would support more video and audio codecs that would be refreshing. But they could surprise us with updated Apple software apps for once.Well said. B8 could be the one used for RC that would be good , it works perfectly well.I'm ready for the iOS 17 Release Candidate. Are you?
It's probably close, but I suspect RC or Public to be a few builds ahead of B8. Last year, we received RC one week after B8, and it was still a few builds ahead of B8. Since it's two weeks apart this year, I don't think it will be the same build.B8 could be the one used for RC that would be good , it works perfectly well.

We're all over the map with battery in iOS 17 betas... mine is really good...Boooooooooooo…
Yes, beta 8 is a battery killer, tvOS got a 9th beta.
Not necessarily. Internally, Apple is several builds/weeks ahead. While we received B8, Apple likely finalized the RC in late August, which is what is being loaded onto the iPhone 15's now so they are ready for the public one month later on 9/22.Keep in mind, that they have to put something on the new phones that have already been produced and waiting for delivery.
Thus I think, the RC and final build will indeed be 21A326 (beta 8 build without beta logging etc.) so being the same as the build loaded on the already build 15-series iPhones.
I am still not believing that rumor, that internally Apple is „weeks“ ahead. That’s not how software development works.
The kernel build dates of published iOS betas are never more than a week old, so given that fact, they cannot be that far ahead (as a kernel is an essential part of an iOS build). At least in the iOS 17.0 branch. Of course there are already 17.1 or even 17.2 branches available internally, but that’s something different.
