i'm having the resprings constantly too. on the bright side the recovery is quick and the rest of the build works fine.

There's a super annoying bug in the latest 18.1 B5 that causes constant random resprings at least 4-5 times a day and I can't pinpoint any steps to reproduce other than using the phone. Some say it's related to the camera but it could happen at any time. Ofc it's a beta so expected. Battery is noticeably better, still really bad though. If you haven't updated yet, just don't.
Wow. So random, I guess. My 15 hasn't glitched once.

I’ve yet to see this on either of my ios devices (fingers crossed). Both phone and ipad are currently on 18.1, but I didn’t experience this on 18.0 either.

I've only had the respring issue once on my 16 Pro on 18.1 Beta 5. Caught me off guard at first, but came and looked on the forums, didn't realise it was a known issue.

I experienced it once with the same app which I deleted and redownloaded from the App Store and ever since no more respring (iPhone 13 Pro Max on iOS 18.0).

Someone posted here that for the resprings you have to go to General and Dictionaries to force an update on them

For anyone struck by the Spotlight respring/crash bug, or other quirky problems with b5:

I had reported the Spotlight crash (Spotlight crashes immediately when searches start with the letter "s") in detail to Apple, and a few days ago received the following from them. I can confirm that the quick fix outlined below by Apple works, and since them I have been VERY pleased that other resprings and crashes have dramatically subsided, iPhone is running at much more normal temperature levels, and battery life is SO MUCH better!!

From Apple: "We've updated a dictionary to resolve this issue. This dictionary should download automatically the next time you perform a system software update.

If you don’t want to wait for the next system software update, you should be able to manually trigger a download of the updated dictionary simply by navigating to “Settings > General > Dictionary”.

Once the updated dictionary is downloaded, this issue should no longer occur."
Legit, I haven't had a respring since I've done this. I even unchecked the downloaded dictionaries, then rechecked them and it showed them downloading again. 3 days without a respring now...

Not fixes the issue for other than Spotlight crashes - manually redownloaded each of them.

I have 4-7 resprings each day, stopped reporting them in my feedback: while unlocking, when opening Safari, when opening camera in locked screen…

Hoping we get new Beta version anytime soon…

I have severe weather notifications turned on for only my current location, but for some reason I’ve been getting notifications about excessive heat warnings in the San Francisco area. I have Cupertino as a city because it was default and I never deleted it, but I have notifications switched off for that city.
Same here. Getting heat warnings every day

I'm hoping the new watchOS beta adds Sleep Apnea unless that requires and iOS update...

Update: Still missing sleep apnea detection after updating to watchOS 11.1 Beta 3

Has anyone had any luck getting Siri to work regularly in 18.1 b5 with Apple Intelligence turned on? I'm stuck on the 99% for Siri and I was hoping for a new beta to come out today to fix that.

Came across a bug in the health app. When setting sex I get this.

Anyone else notice this?

Does the iOS18.1 Beta 5 fix the image conversion bug? To convert 48MP ProRAW to 48MP HEIC when using Quick Actions>Convert Image>File Format: HEIF>Image Size: Original, only a 12MP 4032x3024 HEIC file is created because the 48MP 8064x6048 ProRAW DNG files saved to a folder on the device for batch conversion get incorrect dimensions metadata.
