1. How many text notifications from a single thread does it take to trigger the summary feature?

2. Do the Apple AI writing tools use ChatGPT? In other words, is the quality of a rewrite, for example, going to be the same whether I’m using Apple AI or ChatGPT?

After updating my iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 18.1, during a call and its Dynamic Island animation, the clock on the upper corner doesn’t show up anymore.
This happens only in calls, in other circumstances it is like it used to.
Already tried hard resetting the iPhone.
Anyone else?

I think Mail is completely broken.

Won't Fetch mail unless you actually have the app open or you have your phone on charge!

I’ve noticed this as well, this release and the RC build. Previous betas on 18.1 no issues.

I did two hard resets back to back and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Have there been improvements to optimised charging? Set the limit to 100% last night and plugged in when I went to sleep.

I usually use 90-95% limit and charge in the mornings. Only been plugged in once or twice overnight in 5 months I’ve had the 15PM.

You can see the charging was paused during the night and resumed later on. It seems it didn’t need to learn my charging habits before initiating optimised charging.

Home screen wallpapers are now over- saturated. New bug on iPhone and iPad with 18.1. The pumpkins look almost red compared to the actual photo of medium orange. View attachment 2443642 View attachment 2443643

The same happens in contact photos. The big ones not the little thumbnail. But it happens only when u see contact details. When they call you it displays correctly.

Has someone recognized that when you get more notifications of one app, you also see the number of notifications in the app icon INSIDE the notification.

Safari is still buggy. Especially during the Cloudflare security thing.

Yes, same for me. All recently opened apps are oversaturated.

1) My phone summarizes anything more than 1 notification. 2 texts will get summarized and so will 10+ texts.
2) I don't believe this is chatgpt as that isn't included in 18.1, but i could be wrong.

You are right, ChatGPT is not included in 18.1.

The Geekbench 6 score for my iPhone 16 Pro saw a jump from 18.0.1 to 18.1.

Geekbench 6 Multicore score:
iOS 18.0 - 8188
iOS 18.0.1 - 8584
iOS 18.1 - 8692

I’ve seen pretty significant increases with every update.

Just ran 18.1 and it smoked my previous best on 18.0.1

I see the writing tools on both my iPhone and iPad in Notes. On the iPad, you have to select the three dots to drill down to the writing tools.

Right.
I am able to see the tools on Iphone and iPad. I am also seeing the tools on Mail app of macOS. But the tools are not showing up in notes app of macOS.
