It’s the first time, I think, that I’m experiencing this bug, but least now I know what everybody has been talking about 😂

It was the squared notification bug. Strangely enough, on the screenshot I took, it looks fine…
I haven't experienced this since 18.1 and i reallllyyy hope it doesn't come back. but yes, the second you go to screenshot it, it corrects itself so its impossible to catch.

I’m still having issues with notifications in the Apple mail app. Sometimes get them sometimes not. Tried numerous fixes and reported. Feedback shows more than 10 and open. Been that way early on in 18.1 betas.
Yea, it works when you delete and reinstall the mail app but stops again. It doesn't seem to respect the fetch designation for the mail app or won't load until the phone is connected to a power source. I've added more to my feedback report.

I've noticed notifications are a lot less reliable with 18.1. I feel like when Apple Intelligence is enabled, I don't always get mail and message notifications. When I disable Apple Intelligence, everything works as normal. Prefer not to reset all settings but might have to.

I suspect it’s only appearing for people who have not had 18.1 on their devices at all until the RC.
Nope, I never had 18.1 until RC and the only time I saw this message was after the launch day update on the 16. Not after 18.1. So not real sure when its supposed to appear. 🤷‍♂️

Nobody was saying it last time either, until I reported it, then other people tried it and replicated the issue.
Somebody has to stay on top of these things. Have you tried it yourself?
No. Why would I use an application that no one seems to want to use because it's janky? You seem hellbent on using it so go ahead and see if it bricks. I either do OTA or iTunes, both work so well that I do not see a need to use Apple Devices. Your question has been answered to death but you still want to keep the argument going.

This!! I'd say I'm not receiving 30% to 40% of my message notifications. They appear on my Lock Screen but no sounds or Apple Watch notifications. Have not seen a problem with the apple mail notifications and receiving 100% of my gmail app notifications. I will try disabling AI to see if that helps. This is very frustrating.

Strangely enough, I'm having the opposite problem. I get the sound but no lock screen or banner notification.

I'm experiencing delays of 30-90 seconds for some apps (PerfectServe that we use for hospital communications and Imprivata that we use for authentication for e-prescribing controlled substances). MS Authenticator won't come through unless I tap the screen if it's locked.

Focus mode is off. Notifications are all set to immediate delivery (where available in settings), AI learning turned off, etc.

This was not a problem until I upgraded to 18.1. I also activated Apple Intelligence shortly after so not sure if it's 18.1 or AI that did it.

Submitted a bug report to Apple, but curious if others are experiencing issues with notifications since upgrading.

Has anyone noticed that iOS 18.1 RC feels warmer than usual compared to beta 7? Mine seems to be a bit hotter than usual. I hope it’s just because of some background processing that’s still going on. I’ll keep an eye on it and let you know how it looks on the weekend.

installed 18.1 beta yesterday, now I can not edit my Lock Screen. Nothing happens as I hold down on the Lock Screen. Anyone else experience this?

If I turned on Beta updates now, and updated to 18.1… shouldn’t I have the new Siri UI?

The phone restarted and she looks the same as before.

There are reports that apple intelligence is the cause of it and it appears better in 18.2 beta. My cameras have a delay of up too 25 secs now to give me a notification of movement when it was virtually instant before.

I always reboot the phone several times after an update. This has always sorted any heat issues!

Do you need to request a spot in the Apple Intelligence beta separately to get the new Siri UI? I updated to the 18.1 public beta and Siri is the old UI still….

I’m on iPhone 16 Pro Max

To request activation of Apple Intelligence after you update to iOS 18.1, go to Settings, tap Apple Intelligence & Siri, then tap Join the Apple Intelligence Waitlist.
