Image Playground is not available within Siri, right? There it will always use ChatGPT‘s image generation if you ask for an image?

We don’t know that. It will now as Image Playground is not available for use yet. We don’t know what it will do later.

I understand why, but I kind of hate that these new beta updates are taking longer to come to older devices. I just want to play news+ sudoku on my 14 Pro.

hi guys, hope someone can shed some ligfht on situation for me. If already covered, pls direct me.
18.2 dowloaded fine over cell..... no image playground etc etc..... Connected to WIFI when i got to work. went into AI and Siri and clicked on "waiting list" started downloading and now says Apple intelligence preparing. Its been on this page now for about 2 hours,,,,,, nothing.

As you probably know from reading in this thread, Image Playground is not yet available. But your problem seems more basic: Apple Intelligence is still loading its assets.

First of all, it may take overnight to load. So 2 hours is probably not enough time.

If that doesn’t do it (and this was a problem for many of us in the 18.1 betas that needed a fix from Apple) you may need to restart your phone.

Worst case you may simply have to wait for the next beta in (hopefully) 10 days or so.

But my suspicion is that if you give it another 10-12 hours you should have Apple Intelligence. However you’ll likely find (unless you are very fortunate) that you’ll be on the waitlist for the image generation capabilities like the rest of us.

Promotion keeps going janky for me on my M4 iPad Pro (13inch). The refresh rate seems to drop to 60Hz (or less) and can only be solved with a reboot.

Quite interesting rollout for the X.2 betas. Most people who are on beta won’t be able to test the new AI features soon - of course, seems like a special group of people (ie. YouTubers) were given an early access (which I don’t quite like - should be the same process for everyone).

They rushed releasing the betas with core functionalities broken (like the Cloud Library in the Music app in macOS), without much to test right now.

They could have just made everyone who has applied for Apple Intelligence automatically get on a waitlist for the image-related features and release the beta a bit later on.

Not pointing out anyone in particular here (honest gov) but I genuinely don’t understand why there is no much bitching about Apple releasing this particular beta. As much as I dislike Apple, even I think they can’t do right for wrong in this particular instance.

So many people here are acting like its the end of the world and its so broken and how dare they release it in such a state, blah blah blah, and that they are entitled to a perfect working version. I’ve yet to see anyone, apart from 2 users, who have stated they have reported the bugs they have encountered…I just hope everyone is doing their part.

My opinion is that this is a great very early, bug-ridden as expected, view of what is to come. Now, whether we actually like the new stuff is for a different conversation of course.

The testing is what Apple says it is. Not what users want it to be.
Personally, I think the “waiting” is part of their infrastructure testing. Trying to see how quickly they can push the device files out without crippling their backend.

If anyone on here actually has been enabled at this point I’d be interested in knowing how much “weight” this added to their device. (It is all supposed to be done device side, correct?)

One bug I am getting haven’t been able to solve yet. Was working fine when I installed and up until some time overnight. Now when I archive emails for a Gmail account they do not archive they stay and if I refresh or close and reopen mail they come back rebooted as well and sent feedback. iCloud not affected.

I have a question about the mail app - are these new categorisation features AI specific and therefore only available currently in the US, or not?

I am finding problems with both the iOS and iPadOS mail in the 18.2 beta. The categorization and such it does seems to have involved enough changes to mail that these bugs are cropping up. iPadOS does not have categories yet but it has issues i have already given to apple on feedback app. IOS had its own problems and i have reported on those as well. Fortunately I am retired so email issues can be just ignored and worked around for me. If I were in business and needed my mail I probably would not be beta testing LOL

I wonder if the amount you help out in the feedback app and reach higher levels, effects your level on the list for image play ground…

I made level 1

I’m clearly a bit of a teachers pet… only one more to complete level 7.

I was thinking the same thing, I’m currently working on level 7. I don’t have a reference for if that’s high or not compared to others in the forum, but hopefully it high enough to get access if that’s what they’re doing.

People, please just just spam the feedback evaluation to get a higher level. Actually report if the AI is doing its job or not.

I get the feeling it tests you. I’ve had it ask me about emails I’ve already checked several days ago. It only asks if you give a thumbs up. I’ve not had it ask a second time for the ones I reported as having issues.

I ended up rolling back to 18.1 RC. Didn’t have a bad experience or any showstoppers but since I can’t use the image playground stuff after waiting since release there isn’t really an upside except for ChatGPT/Mail improvements. Mail improvements were buggy for me, not getting notifications for some despite having ‘All Messages’ selected. That coupled with the normal beta battery drain made it kind of meh for me.

Happy to be back on (almost) release software and my 16 pro max is flying! Also patting myself on the shoulder for my 18.1 backup 😎

Can you please remind me how to do this? Without the extra features I'm with you that this early version isn't worth the beta battery drain. Is it just a DFU restore or do you have to download the ipsw separately and then ALT restore. Its been a while since I rolled back.
