The Mail app is cooked. Can’t delete the now overwhelming amount of Junk mail, the icons clutter the Inbox, the summaries are borderline useless - is Apple really going to nuke their clean cohesive ecosystem in order to chase the AI waterfall?

Is anyone else having Junk/Deleted folder issues?
Not at all.

Jeez, if things get any sweeter in here I'm gonna need insulin. 😄

Ahh someone’s feeling left out, wanna cuddle?

Sweet dreams.

I’m just wondering, when is it expected Public beta? And is the public beta 1 going to be the exact same version as developer beta 1?

I think Mail is just completely broken on this first beta. Emails aren’t downloading or they do and then disappear. I can imagine beta 2 will fix a lot of Mail bugs.

You can turn off both Summaries and contact photos in Mail settings.

Same here

Typically Apple releases 2-3 developer betas before a public beta. When released, the public beta will be exactly the same as whatever the current developer beta is.

In early development, betas are 2 weeks apart, so I would expect developer beta 2 on Nov 4. The earliest I would expect a public beta would be around Nov 5/6.

But if they feel they want to wait for developer beta 3 first, then expect those estimates to slip 1-2 weeks. Could be as late as Nov 20 for a public beta.

They want to force development. They will release betas as soon as possible.

If I download this beta, then leave the developer beta program after I installed this version, then sign up for public beta, will my first update be public beta version 2 whenever that comes?

That all depends on when Apple releases the first public beta. If you download the current developer beta - developer beta 1 - and another developer beta - Developer Beta 2 - is released next week, followed by a public beta, you would be getting public beta 1 which is the same as Developer beta 2.

Email is a complete mess for me right now. I switched to list view and that made things a little better but still unstable. It's so bad that I downloaded and tried Gmail and outlook apps.. but hated both and quickly deleted them.... I am just going to stick it out and hope beta 2 fixes it. Everything else has been great so far.

Anyone else finding asking siri to identify a song (playing externally on a radio for example) not working with the latest update? The shazam app itself still works fine.

Did a bit of pushing the envelope on my 15 ProMax yesterday.
I have 87 apps installed.
I cleared everything, did a hard reboot.
Then I started launching apps. Launch, login if needed, close. Rinse repeat going through all the apps. Everything worked pretty good. Ran into a couple that crashed on launch - memory hogs like Paramount+, Peacock, etc… 👍

Then I did a second round immediately after the first. No clearing or reboot.
Pretty much the same as round one however I ran into a few apps that launched then froze. They closed just fine and I kept going.

For a beta, not bad. Except for the freezes on round 2 it all worked as expected.
