I think I might be the only person that doesn't really care about the genmoji wait lol... I am 99% sure that this will be one of those features that I'll play around with a few times the first couple of days, and then completely forget it exists....

How would they then know there is apple intelligence ready to be activated in the Siri settings?

Oh right. Apple is not going to tell its customers how to activate the feature it has spent millions of dollars advertising everywhere for the past 7 or 8 weeks. Got it.

Easy for me to say as someone who's had access 30 minutes after release, but you're not missing out on much. Yeah it's cool and definitely one of the better AI image generators that I've used, as is Genmoji, but after the first day of using it a lot (and killing your battery in the process) you won't find yourself going back to it often.

You’re probably right. But the forbidden fruit is always the sweetest.

Personally I don’t have an abiding desire to create new crazy emoji. I just want the image wand to help me with illustrations in Notes because I stink at drawing things.

I still want the chance to not go back to it often. 😄

Good news, Apple Intelligence will come to the EU in April 2025.

To be honest, I don´t think much people will activate apple intelligence on 18.1. My guess is those who are interested are already in with the developer beta
HARD disagree. The overwhelming majority of users likely have no idea that public/dev betas even exist, and I’d wager a similar percentage of those who just bought new, shiny iPhone 16 (series) are downloading 18.1 immediately. There have been more ads for Apple Intelligence than the phones themselves.

Even if they are aware that there are beta avenues available, a huge majority (rightly so) of users stay away from them and stick to public releases. Us as devs, and those who just want to play around and are impatient, are the ones who go for early access and risk show-stopping bugs on secondary (sometimes primary - you know who you are… psychos) devices.

I'm really enjoying the ChatGPT integration, but I wish Apple would pass even more questions to ChatGPT. Because when Siri thinks it knows the answer, it's usually still wrong.

Me: Who is taller: Michael Jordan or Michael B. Jordan?
Siri: Michael Jordan is 6'6".

I tried rewording this every way I could think of, but Siri could not answer correctly and refused to give the question to ChatGPT. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity all handled this question just fine. Perplexity added some weird nuance about shoes that it got from Reddit (and is probably wrong), but they all agreed that Michael Jordan is taller (duh!).

On my M4 iPad Pro for example I have the settings below and turned the default confirm ChatGPT requests. Then when I ask for something I say “Siri use ChatGPT to do such and such” and it generally works except when Siri misunderstands my enunciation of certain words then I click in the box above the result and copy text, going to below the result where there is option to type in text requests and paste that in and then correct the words.. So I can get my results that way. Someone told me to turn off the “confirm ChatGPT requests” which supposedly does not give Siri optio to not use it but often I still find I have to tell Siri I want it to use ChatGPT.

HondaLink is borked with 18.2, as it thinks it's Jail Broken.
Panaera Bread's borked with CarPlay on 18.2.

You get this error if u having issue with internet. Go in airplane mode and try opening the app. You will get same error after a while.

Weird I am on fast fiber optic I got couple weeks back have never noticed any dropping of the internet before maybe it was my iPad and not the routers for fiber optic lines? Funny thing while I was watching the spinning on the playground app I was on another internet app and connections were fine (was doing that waiting for the app to do something so internet wasn’t really gone on my iPad in that aspect

Here was my non-GPT answer (still wrong but):
