Playing with my 15PM camera this morning. Taking a couple of shots of my Xmas tree. (Photo attached)
Using the Main Camera, it had a lot of difficulty focusing to take a clean photo.

Fun part, when looking at the photo, the plant identifier said it was a Viper’s Bugloss.
It’s a flocked Blue Spruce.

You spray painted a tree white, covered it in light up bulbs and sparkles, and are surprised that an AI model couldn’t properly identify it?

I’m surprised it recognized it’s a plant at all 🤣

Why? If I use white instead of colored bulbs it can identify it. ;)

Besides, a tree covered in festive lights and decorations … maybe it is a Christmas Tree? 😁
btw - it’s not paint.

My PC was recently updated to 24H2 and I could not restore my iPhone 16 Pro using the IPSW via the Apple Devices app or iTunes.

I rolled back to 23H2 and could use iTunes but not the Apple Devices app to restore my iPhone 16 Pro using the IPSW - this when iOS 18.2 RC 2 released.

I see Apple released an updated version of the Apple Devices app via the Microsoft Store a day or so ago but haven’t tried it yet.

Yes, Apple Devices consistently does not work with iOS 18-18.2 through IPSW install but I had one with iOS 17.1 successful when it was still signed. I have not tried iTunes but I might now with the next iOS release I don't trust AD anymore.

I’ve updated my iPhone 15 Pro to 18.2 today (via iTunes on Windows). Turned on Apple Intelligence for the first time now that it’s localised to the UK. No waitlist. Everything downloaded (on WiFi and when plugged in on charge). Same with Genmoji.

Changed the Mail app email view to the old style.

To test the ‘notification summary’ I sent myself 3 short emails from my iPad from a different email account, making up 3 different pretend topics of conversation. Apple Intelligence summarised them well.

Deleting an SMS/RCS on my watch deletes it accordingly on my iPhone but not my iPad…would someone be able to confirm please?

iMessage sync fine across all. I thought crApple had finally fixed this half-arsed system? Ta.

Another issue (maybe not new), ask Apple Watch or phone to turn off a particular HomeKit device in, for example, 3 1/2 hours and it says “automations must be set at least one minute in advance”!!!!! Only works from HomePod using the exact same command. WTF?

Settings was really slow and laggy for me on my iPhone 13. Bizarelly, setting display zoom to larger text then back to default seems to have cured it 🤷‍♂️

Face ID seems much slower on my 15 Pro Max then before this update.....

Is anyone experiencing issues with the AirPods Pro 2nd generation since the iOS 18.2 release? The sound randomly becomes robotic, if you disconnects and reconnects, and it returns to normal. This happens very rarely and intermittently.
I had a weird issue at the gym today where my Airpods Pro 2 volume randomly went down despite having conversation awareness and all that stuff off.

Really not happy at all with this update.

Mail is a mess. I love the concept of categories (and miss it from my Gmail days) but this implementation isn't it. Lots of email has already been miscategorized and everything not in the primary inbox is always classified as "older messages" even if it's only minutes old, so it never shows a preview or is summarized by Apple Intelligence. Worse still, notifications no longer are instant and sometimes take 15-20 minutes to appear after email is delivered.

Apple Intelligence is so half-baked it's not even funny. I was really looking forward to notification summaries but it's already several times entirely misrepresented a notification/stack of notifications to a degree that it feels useless because I can't trust it to summarize accurately. Image Playground is a gimmick and I can't get Genmoji to actually generate anything interesting I'd want to actively share - it feels more like being able to "pose" an Animoji rather than generate to your heart's content.

Notifications no longer are reliably mirroring to my Watch - sometimes I'll look at my phone and see an iMessage or other notification waiting for me that just never made it to the Watch.

I've already had to restart once because Apple Intelligence just stopped working - suddenly nothing was getting summarized.

Hoping for an 18.2.1 release before Christmas to sort some of these issues out but I'm not particularly hopeful.
