Has anyone had an issue where their alarm isn't going off in the morning?

Scenario: Phone's in nightstand mode, not muted. Apple Watch is on, not muted. I've been able to WFH these last two days, so I've adjusted the bedtime slider dial accordingly.

The only thing occurring is the watch pulsing on my wrist. Neither device is playing sound.

I've woken up late (as in after when the alarm was adjusted to) the last two mornings since installing the beta.

And battery life is doodoo, naturally.

My Ipad has no sound either. The sound works 18.2 but now I can't use backup on 18.2 as the apps are treated as too new so I'm going have to ride this out till a fix is released.

Glad I read this as it's a deal breaker and a risk I can't take. Thanks for posting before I took the plunge!

15 ProMax
Camera

When I take a photo, in most cases any writing shows up crisp and clean. Talking about things like a document on a desktop.
However when I take a photo using a website (like vouched.id or banking), frequently the writing is blurred. This started with 18.3. Creates a mess when the software on the receiving end is trying to read the information for verification or copying to a document. Was refi-ing a vehicle for a much better rate.

The same site using my Pixel 9 Pro or S24 Ultra come out clear.

Suspect it is a camera software bug.

Additional item - Camera - photos are showing with a yellow tint in comparison to other devices and by eye. See attached. Left to Right: S24U, P9Pro, 15PM. The Pixel (middle) is pretty much what I see by eye.
During the 17.x betas it was more orange but significantly improved in 18. Now it’s back and yellow.

This is the surface of a chessboard in silver, gold, black and grey.

Well if they were going to add new features, I would assume they would have done that in a DP2 before doing a PB1. Today's release makes me think 18.3 will be very, very small.

9to5 said there was some robovacuum stuff added (9to5mac.com/2024/12/16/ios-18-3-beta-adding-home-app-support-for-robot-vacuums)
A couple carrier profile updates mentioned in this thread
One bug fix for Genmoji
One bug fix for Writing Tools API
Maybe a few other undocumented fixes
But also new undocumented bugs.... wheee!!!

Do you have it turned on in the keyboard settings?

Yes. Even toggled off /on
Having to do an image twice, it then inserts into the box area, but the newly so created sticker image just stays there. Can’t move it, to then add into the message. I’ve watched the videos. Definitely not working.

Has anyone with an iPhone 16 noticed if the vertical line screen glitches have been fixed in 18.3? Getting kind of old after 3 months of no improvements... I'm on 18.2 and still see the glitches.

Funny you mention this....I'm on 18.3 and for the first time on my 16 Pro Max I'm getting vertical green lines on my screen. The first time it was far left side of the screen, all the way against the bezel. Then a couple times since it's happed in different areas...it's always vertical, never horizontal. Its easy to fix, I just put my phone to sleep and then wake it back up and its gone but still....

Edit: This has never happened to me before I downloaded 18.3 yesterday.

I've been using Sleep Cycle for many years.. I'd recommend the app over Apple's default and any other alarm clock system, by far

And no beta has stopped it from working properly for me =)

Thanks for the reply. Very interesting it hasn't happened to you until now. I have had the issue with every version of 18.x. I appreciate you confirming it still exists. Must be a crazy low level bug that is hard to fix OR.... it's a hardware flaw they can't patch. It's about time for "Glitch gate."

Anyone else running super hot this beta? My phone was ice cold on 18.2
IIRC, Aaron from Zollotech reported a little more than 4 hours on his 16 Pro (Max?) for the 100% of battery, and more recently 2 and a half hours of screen on time eating 40% of his battery, all of it using the 18.3 beta.

According to him this is good battery life, but I’m shocked with those numbers when I can take 8 or 9h of screen on time on an iPhone SE 3rd gen with the battery health at 88%… Either the 18.3 beta is draining the battery, or the new devices are more power hungry, showing worse battery life with a much bigger battery than my SE 3…

I can confirm I haven't seen great battery life on 18.3. I have not experienced what I would say is average battery life at all on my 16 Pro on iOS 18 at all. It's been sub par, and 18.3 has been even worse thus far than 18.2. Very strange since there have not been any major feature additions to 18.3.
