I actually don’t seem to have any bugs so far. Even car play is working well for me. Almost feels odd to have such an early beta so good.

Phone is cool even under heavy use and battery seems fine. 16 Pro Max.

As B1, B2 still shows the ID number of my mobile carrier, instead of the string with the name of the carrier.

Phone is now on the charger. Will leave it there and see how it is in 1-2 hrs.
Hopefully it’s just any kind of background processing and I will get the new Siri animation back & a working Genmoji.
Sorry, but here in Germany, the Siri ball for iOS/iPadOS 18.4 Beta 2 is back. Maybe in Beta 3 they'll reenable it, or not.

My Siri bug was still present from beta 1, where you can ask Siri anything but the reply was empty. Turns out, if you have reduce motion under accessibility activated it can be causing the issue. After disable and enable again everything works now. And for me Siri in german is still in the new look.

How is a iPhone 16 while using image playground? Does it get warm?

In the meanwhile I also have the new Siri animation back on my German iPhone. It was really more of a try and error.

What I did in the end: changed region and language to US english. Opened visual intelligence via button in control center. Then it said downloading. I also had that info in the Siri settings.

Note: you need to have your device in a wifi AND connected to a power source.

Waited about 2 hours, nothing happened. Then I thought, I just set everything back to German. Region and language. Also opened VI, got the notification that AI has to download. Saw the message also in Siri setting.

Waited a while. Maybe 50 minutes or so? Until the message was gone. Then - without any restart - the new Siri animation was back.

Not really sure what now really did the trick. Well, at least it works again. Siri is dumb as ever but the animation is really nice. Crazy how old-fashioned the old Siri bubble looks once you see the new animation.

Has anyone observed being signed out of apps repeatedly on iOS 18.4 beta 2?

Both Reddit and Workday keep signing me out. Was not an issue on beta 1.

No, it is still there. But a bug seems to make activation a bit grumpy…

Okay, I set ONE iPad to US/US/US, rebooted, and after half an hour back to DE/DE/DE, rebooted - and Siri came back. I only had to reactivate the recognition of the command word.

But: after that, all the devices in my account reactivated Siri and wanted to reload the German data. The power cable had to be connected for one minute at a time, and Siri was back with a rainbow in German. But only one device went through the reboot process! Crazy! And all of them have now the rainbow animation back, all without reboot, but the one.

Glad to hear. But yes… Apple indeed needs to put some effort into it. Don’t forget to file a report…
It seems currently some trial&error required

Yep, it gets warm immediately. To be honest though, Image Playground is something I genuinely have zero use for. The Ai stuff on iOS in general seems to be a bit of a non-starter for iOS 18. What's there feels like garbage. I'd stick to the third party apps for now.

If I'm completely honest, there isn't much to recommend iOS 18.4. The beta seems to work ok but I'm struggling to find any real value. I guess the clean up tool in Photos is nice. A very small feature though - wouldn't miss it if it was not there.

I‘ve just updated the public beta and to be honest iOS 18.4 is so far the laggiest and slowest version I’ve ever had. Even x.0 Beta 1 weren’t so bad for me. And after every update no WiFi connection. Have to reset the network settings

It’s still a beta and maybe give it a bit time to settle down ☺️

One issue where updated apps would just sit with an open status is resolved. They are now dropping to the bottom when update is completed.

Apps seem to update quicker too, but may be unrelated to updated OS.
