I have to find a way to downgrade from 18.1 to 18 without losing my data. 18.1 is waste for me as I live in Sweden.

Not looking forward to the Photos app. Will probably hold off for a few months, if not indefinitely, as everything I’ve seen and read makes me feel like it’ll be a huge regression. I’m so sick of change for change’s sake.
Agree. Depending on how (bad) the Photos app is will determine whether I keep the iPhone 16PM I ordered or return it, and stick to iPhone 14PM and iOS 17.

Keeping my iPhone 13 pro on ios 15, best decision ever. Just changed the battery yesterday, feels as fast as i got it the first day.
Wish I had done it with iPhone 12 mini. I'm not sure whether it's the updates or what it is but the battery life has gotten worse for me and was much better back on iOS 15.

I 100% welcome the Passwords app, it’s long overdue and should prove very useful.

RCS also very welcome although I mostly use WhatsApp so it won’t affect me too much.

Most of the other changes look like a bunch of nonsense we don’t need. Changes to the Photos app sound scary, and will annoy me greatly if it’s slower or more convoluted to navigate than the old one.

Might hold off updating until I’ve heard consensus reviews, particularly regarding the Photos app.

Been using 18.1 for about a week only because I wanted Apple Intelligence and for a beta it's been running flawlessly so far overall. The same colour tinted icons looks terrible but I love the dark mode icons, very simple tweak but it makes such a big change to the look it makes it feel like iOS has had a big UI update because the UI has felt stale for many years now.

Agreed. A dedicated Passwords app is very convenient. No need to dig thru the Settings and Safari to find my saved passwords.

The other things I'm excited for is being able to place apps on any tiles, and the rainbow time on the lock screen, but that's about it. iOS 18's main focus is Apple Intelligence and my phone can't run it. Overall, it's a good but less exciting update than iOS 16.

Question for those who have testing “lock apps behind Face ID” feature. What happens if you attempt to use it on apps that are already locked with a password/Face ID, such as our banking apps?

Do you not get the option on the list?
Do you get the option, but if you select it it does nothing different than before?
Or possibly does it require two Face ID validations?

I just upgraded my iPhone 13 mini from iOS 15 to 17. Battery life had already degraded before.
