Battery is still really bad for me on b8 on 15P, but it’s been really bad since I downgraded to iOS 17.5.1 in July (because I had a work trip and needed the battery, which was maybe worse after the downgrade lol). It was really bad with 17.6/17.6.1 also.
Going to do a complete restore when RC comes out, hoping to fix this issue.

Battery is still draining mostly because my 15 PM is heating up when using some apps and safari…
Hope this is getting better with the RC, without resetting my iPhone…!

Honestly, using iOS 18 in one iPad and 17 in other devices, it kinda seems that iOS 18 pb6 had better battery life than 17? At least in that iPad (M2).

Battery life is atrocious on the last 2 betas. I have no hope for the RC, lightweight usage and device still is warm to touch.

Took my phone off the charger earlier today and sat it down on a table only to come back to 92% after 45 minutes.

Mine has been absolute Sh...t since Beta 1. Hasn't improved at all in the successive updates. Not holding my breath for a fix on delivery of RC. Side not. Ip15 standard, Batt health is 83%!!!!
after 352 cycles😞

The thing that upsets me is that until beta 3, battery was excellent, even better than 17.4 in some instances. What did they do to make it so bad again…

Today I’ve been using my 11” M2 iPad Pro for more than 4h, and I’m still at 66% so I guess I’m having good battery life…

I find that my M4 11” iPad Pro is getting excellent battery life on iPadOS 18. My iPhone 15 Pro - not so much. It’s dying way faster.

Fingers crossed this is the day we get the super polished RC version of iOS 18?!
Hell yeah!

Although I usually prefer to make a clean install using the IPSW through my Mac, and I tried that with the beta and the Mac refused to initiate the restore, even putting the iPad in DFU mode. So for the first time in many years I did an OTA update. And I hate to admit it but the iPad works flawlessly. Anyways, going to install iOS 18 on all my devices if there’s an easy IPSWICH procedure. If it must be done through the beta program, I’ll probably update this iPad Pro which is running the public beta 6 (dev beta 8), doing an OTA again. Just for the sake of testing the temporal dithering on this device which was destroying my eyes, especially in 17.6.1

Apple, if you’re reading this… oh nevermind.

The reality distortion field is not a time distortion field. Looking at the state of 18.0 and 18.1, I think most of the polish will start to show by end of calendar year.
Yeah, I think iOS 18.2 or maybe even iOS 18.3 will be key releases regarding bux fixes. Regardless, my experience with iPadOS 18 beta couldn’t have been better.

So RC is installed via OTA, I hope it’s better now with the heat and therefore the battery drain.
It should be better because logging from beta is gone, right?

I jumped on with beta 5 and battery was excellent after the initial post-update processing. Unfortunately since around beta 8, I've had idle drain where one app is shown to have a lot of background activity every hour, a bug that has existed for a few years now. Before, I could either offload the misbehaving app, or force restart the phone to resolve it, this time, if I offload the app, another app takes its place with excessive background activity, and force restarting doesn't help.

I've just updated to iOS 18 RC and it's exactly the same :/
