I charge every night with a MagSafe charger (Optimized Charging ON with charge limit set to 100%)

To me it looks like heat is the main problem with the battery of the 15 series.

Wondering if I would get a replacement iPhone from Apple and if it would be better with heat. Not all 15 PMs have that issue…

I'm already at the state of "I don't give a f*ck any longer about that sh*t battery".
I'm charging my 15P over night to 100 % (optimzed charging enabled) and somewhen between 12:00 and 15:00 I charge it again (to 80 % or at least +40 %) to make it through the rest of the day.

According to the battery stats I'm currently using around 120 to 140 % battery each day with about 5h SOT.
Max capaity is at 93 % after 354 charging cycles.
Got it in the first week of release (can't remember the exact date).

Looks like I'll get a battery replacement with AC+ I've paid for years.

For me it’s mediocre too.
I will reset my iPhone the next days to 17.6.1 and then install clean install IPSW iOS 18 RC!
Hope for a better result.

Maybe this is the battery life we’ll be getting? I mean it’s not terrible and the heating up has gotten a lot better for me, what about yours?

It doesn’t get as warm whilst using 30w charger or during normal use now. The only warming up happens if I’m using the camera a lot.

I’ve done 2 soft resets since installing the RC.

Idle drain is superb and none existent. I always use low power mode whilst asleep.

My battery is not that good, maybe 4 hrs from 95% to 40%….

Heat is still quite heavy while charging and it also gets warm when using a specific app and safari

I will reset my phone I think, not 100% sure if it’s worth it though

As others have mentioned, wait to see if the final release is a new build. It will be if there are enough problems and complaints to warrant changes.

If it’s still the same then do a full reset and start again.

I tried a full restore from IPSW and put my backup back in it. We'll see how it goes, but I’m prepared to switch back to iOS 17 until they fix this mess

Battery life is utter dog s…
Here’s my 15 Pro, battery health at 99% (dropped yesterday). View attachment 2416008
Damn that's trash. The same thing happened to me when I updated my 13 Pro Max to iOS17 the last 2 developer betas. Literally my battery life got cut in half, just like that by updating. It's been a year and nothing changed.

So looks like they're doing the same thing this year but with newer phones so people can post everywhere how good battery life on new iPhone 16 is lol

Im getting 6-6,5h SOT on iOS 17 from a full charge so I wonder what I'd be getting on iOS 18.. 4h? on a Pro Max phone? lol

Anyway I do hope they'll fix that battery drain for y'all

@James6s I did a restore to iOS 17.6.1, but I couldn’t update to iOS 18 RC via IPSW - strange.
Decided to go OTA iOS 18 - because it’s a complete empty iPhone so bet it does not make any difference.

Charge heat is the same I would say, but I would say the heat in safari is gone !

Some stats from today since 95% limit charge last night. 15PM on RC.
It's not bad at all.. my old “daddy” pulls up to 7 hours on this RC version.. you can suffer.. and tomorrow we'll see if the final version will be the same build as RC
Time is up 😀
