You can always restore it to iOS 17, just make a backup of your DB4 iPhone first in case they replace it for you and you need to get everything back.
I may just deal with it for the moment. I have 3 eSIM (2 active), 2 Apple Watch l so it would be a bit of a ball ache. I’m on the road at the moment.

I’ll sort it

Why do you think it’s bizarre? It always felt like it was gonna be a .1 or later update to iOS 18. I surely didn’t think it would make .1 or .2 full release.

How so? It's not unusual for Apple to hold off some features until the x.1 release... the Journal app didn't make it until 17.2 ... I'd suspect that the changes required for Apple Intelligence would be more complicated than a stand-alone journaling app.

What I found bizarre was the fact that there will be two concurrent betas going for the same iOS 18. However, I since realised that this iOS 18.1 beta might only be available for the models meeting the AI hardware specs, with the rest staying with iOS 18.0 betas.

Yes seems like there could be a beta 18.1 before iOS 18 is even released!

Can you imagine the confusion? You're talking about two separate beta threads of an unreleased operating system for Mac, iPad and iPhone... I just don't see that happening.

Ah I thought you were saying it would be bizarre for them to push back AI to .1 update.

That said it would be a total mess to only release .1 to devices that run AI, and still run iOS 18.0 to all other devices when 18.0 is surly not polished yet.

I have a feeling these reports have no idea what’s happening, but that AI is pushed back. I have a sneaky suspicion that AI is not running as optimized on 15 pros as they hoped.

This! Total mess. We are right in the middle of the iOS 18.0 betas. It’s already got enough to keep Apple busy.

The respringing is driving me effing crazy. What's weird is my SE is not doing it at all, but my 15 is respringing every app all the time. I'll be using an app, go to home screen and open another, and they will both respring as I switch between them. Doesn't matter if it's in light mode, dark mode, background refresh on or off, etc. Restart didn't help either. I might try reinstalling from IPSW tomorrow, I can't live like this till next update lol

Anybody else has this problem? With Waze after the latest beta update, you can not report anymore via CarPlay or choose a different route. All the input functions except entering the destination from the CarPlay unit are not available( when clicking on it nothing happens). Have reinstalled the app multiple times.
I have the same, with Waze but also with Google Maps

My iPhone 15 running DB4v2 (22A5316k) does not respring at all. It was updated OTA from DB3 to DB4v2, so I skipped DB4v1 altogether. Try updating it with IPSW, otherwise you are risking to be stuck in this respring loop till next week.

Yep no respringing here on my 14 PM. Not had that issue at all through out beta 3 or 4.

No clue I just downloaded the IPSW from the developer website, I will just wait for the next DB and update via UPSW than OTA

You will not be able to install it with IPSW without them (either X-code beta or just a MobileDevices.pkg file within it). You can get the latest X-code beta from the same Apple developers site you got your IPSW file from.
