To my dismay, didn't work for me. Nothing worked for me so far, I only see the location of 1 person out of 5, and Find my doesn't report my location either.
Here’s what worked: I just started sharing with a person whom I was already sharing with and it miraculously started reporting everyone’s location. I used the plus button in the Find my app to start the sharing.
This!Thx

Can’t comment on the previous versions as I hopped on iOS 18 public beta 3 from 17.6 on my 15 Pro Max. Public beta 3 is surprisingly stable and the battery life/drain has been better than expected. Found no bugs during my usage as of yet.

Hi everyone,

Whenever I send an iMessage to some of my friends, they see a small moon icon next to my message on their end. It’s the same icon that usually appears when a phone is in DND mode. However, my phone isn’t in DND modus...
Has anyone else experienced this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Anyone else having trouble with Universal Clipboard? I have an iPhone on 16 Dev 5 and an iPad on 18.1 and they just will not talk to each other with C&P

Nope, no new Siri glowing UI for unsupported devices.
Actually we don’t know. The iOS 18.1 beta is only currently available for devices that can currently handle Apple Intelligence (15 Pro / 15 Pro Max). We don’t know if the new Siri UI will come to other devices when 18.1 is rolled out to them as well (minus Apple Intelligence support).

Yes, I guess it all depends on whether Apple will bring any changes to Siri itself for devices that won’t support AI due to their hardware limitations. If they do, then giving it a “glow” would be justified, if not - it will be just a proverbial lipstick on a pig. 😋

I never used the zoomed option either. It was maybe the large letters too like we were blind. Large icons and no letters is much better and cleaner.
Yeah I think you are right. Hahaha it was for the people that needed the massive large text too.

I'm on PB2 with very little problems other than a few occasional minor glitches here and there---also, battery life is better than 17.5.1 when I switched. is going to PB3 worth it? I'm not seeing too many concerns---

I just realized Siri does not given me spoken responses on speakerphone. With my AirPods plugged in she does speak. Any ideas? This is a fresh install, no restore.

Never mind, she just doesn't always speak when spoken to. I guess the behavior of "automatic" preference has changed. Shame.

These are the main PB3 perks vs PB2:

My 15 PM got weirdly hot while simply charging on a MagSafe stand while listening to a podcast and it put charging on hold.

So iOS 18 markup tool is broken entirely, cannot save the changes, but not iPadOS 18 one. Weird, considering both are essentially the same OS with superficial differences. Had to dance around through iCloud photos to make changes. Quite annoying. Restart both the app and the phone showed no improvements.

Markup tool? Are you talking about editing a photo and using edit tools like a marker, color enhancing, etc? If so, it works fine on my iPhone 15 plus PB2 and PB3

Last time I had an issue with the markup tool was on beta 2 personally

Well, summer heat + MagSafe charger + podcast listening will do it. I had exactly the same message a few days ago with my iPhone plugged into wired CarPlay and using Apple Maps and Apple Music.

In fact, using FaceTime or Apple Music or WhatsApp calls with an iPhone charging in iOS 17 would all heat my iPhone up as well, I just would not get this warning message.

Once it cools down it will go back to normal.

I see the pattern here of identifying bugs, getting a bit annoyed at them then finding workarounds.

This is what keeps me going back to iOS 17. It's such a nuisance having a phone you cannot rely upon just to 'work'. Fine on a test device but I get the impression that there are some folks using the beta on their only phone.

I think that even when the GM is released to the public there will still be some annoying bugs - it's the same every year. Funny thing is, this is actually the most stable point in the current iOS cycle - iOS 17 is pretty rock solid at the moment, it's great but a bit boring I guess.
