Wasn’t keen at first but the larger icons are growing on me. Not all have dark mode yet, looks nice & clean 👍🏻
Yeah, I am forcing myself to keep the larger icons on my phone for a couple of days to see if I like them. Sure like not having the name underneath. I don't think it looks as bad as it did when I first switched.
I'm using French and English (both Canadian) as a bilingual keyboard (which is new to iOS 18) that allows one keyboard to work in both languages - in opposition to the older way of doing it (having 2 keyboard -- 1 per language -- and autocorrect working in both languages). Having both French and English on the same keyboard allows to choose any supported layouts but this time, QWERTY with accent -- really optimized for French -- is not available anymore, only regular QWERTY shows up. It could be a bug or a feature, but it's preventing me from using the keyboard. I had to revert back to two distinct keyboard (1 per lang) -- but they seems to have removed the autocorrecting bridge between both language, so I need to switch keyboard to switch language autocorrect. It's not a show stopper, more of a quality of life degradation.
Anyone noticing issues with Wifi? On iPhone 15 Pro Max and for some reason, every few seconds it will switch from Wifi to 5G and then back to Wifi. Its doing it every few seconds

I tried them yesterday and instantly went back to the smaller ones with letters underneath. Then tried the larger ones again today and I’m happy to keep them for the foreseeable 👍🏻😃
Question as a non beta tester and somehow being unable to find the answer elsewhere: Do non-AI compatible iPhones still get the new UI with 18.1? IE does an iPhone 13 mini still use iOS the same Siri UI from iOS 17 or does it get the all around UI? Random question but I’d like to know
The piece though driving me insane is actually the spacing between the bottom row and the bar…. It looks like we should get another row of icons.
Nope, no new Siri glowing UI for unsupported devices.
Frankly, I do not care how Siri glows, spins, etc., for as long as it can understand me and provide a rapid and adequate response. It’s a voice controlled assistant, after all, all the rest is just bells & whistles, IMO.
Is the thought that the large icons were suppose to take the place of zoomed? I never used zoomed but I remember playing around with it back in the day.
Thank you! That's quite annoying as I really like the "autocorrect bridge" feature of iOS 17 ... so let's see how that will all work in the final release.
To my dismay, didn't work for me. Nothing worked for me so far, I only see the location of 1 person out of 5, and Find my doesn't report my location either.
Here’s what worked: I just started sharing with a person whom I was already sharing with and it miraculously started reporting everyone’s location. I used the plus button in the Find my app to start the sharing.

I've tried this, didn't work for me. Can you clarify, maybe I did something wrong...
Took about 24 hours for mine to disappear. Also went from 17.6 to 18.0 beta 5.
I never used the zoomed option either. It was maybe the large letters too like we were blind. Large icons and no letters is much better and cleaner.
As above, mine took 24hours for that message in the battery settings to disappear.
Thanks guys, checked it just then and that message is gone now
so far so good!
