Help me with my decision:
Should I install these beta on my daily driver 15 Pro or not? Ahhh can’t decide.
NEVER! Your phone will explode.

/s yeah go ahead if you don’t mind potentially having issues. It is a beta after all. I’ve been on it since the first public beta and it’s been fine. 1 was a bit janky but 2 and 3 have been great. 4 is out now so even better! Go for it

Ok 😀 will do it

Why do you want the beta on your daily driver? What is making you want this so bad?
Would like to re-arrange my home screens and the control center.
Dual language keyboard is also nice. It works also with iOS17 but the real dual language support works even better with iOS18. I often type in German and English language.

Go ahead and download it. You don’t need to justify it to people who like to pretend you shouldn’t download betas unless you’re a developer or have multiple phones.

That was developer beta.

Edit: alright seems they later updated the post. Would be nice if they made it clearer…
Nope, the public one followed already shortly after the developer one, what was kind of unexpected because the „earlier“ public betas most often are following the day after.

Look here, they updated the article in the evening:

Well I never noticed since they only updated the developer post.

I've been installing iOS betas on my daily driver since iOS 5 or 6.
Apple has also made it easier for people to access betas in recent years. Of course they will be bugs but Apple is not gonna push out anything super unstable and if they did release something with a major bug they’d pause it. Didn’t something like that happen recently with an update ?

New features and changes? It’s stable enough for a “daily driver”. Lmao you don’t need multiple phones to use a beta. I only have one iPhone and have the beta installed on it…oh the horror!
Not saying it's not stable enough for a daily driver at all, was asking @Reeneman what he was looking for. Would it be worth it to have to deal with a few bugs. Thats it.

Just seeing if it was worth it to have a few bugs and battery life thats not as good. If you dont mind those things, go for it. It's very stable.

Seems like we are getting close to the iOS 18 finish line..... so what is the overall battery performance? still major issues with battery drain?

Not major, but this past update to beta 6 has taken a step back a bit. We are still another beta update away or so from Apple really optimizing the battery life.

So far it works very fluid on my 15 Pro. No crazy heat after installing.
Seems to be fine. I hope battery life won’t be too bad over the upcoming weeks.

There are a few bugs which are not show stoppers. If you’re okay with things being a bit broken visually at some points then you’ll be ok.

Don’t expect it to be as complete as iOS 17.x, it’s just not. I find it very good though.

I installed the 18.0 update yesterday, and my battery on 15 Pro Max has been rock solid since this morning. Comparable to 17.x or better....
Interesting. Like I said before, maybe it's that I installed Tapatalk Beta yesterday as well, and that may not be optimized. Mine battery life hasn't been as good at 17.5.1 the entire beta cycle, but it's been closer than now.

Squared notifications are still alive... in ios18 the squared corners flash very quickly before rounding. in ios 17 it was much more noticeable/slower to correct itself.
Arrggghhh Apple whyyyyy???

Set my charging limit to 85% but it still stops at 80% :)
Did send feedback over the app.
