I’m curious what your specific bug is? I’ve had an issue for months now where Find My just fully removes my location exception, which happens to be home.

So every day when I leave I get alerts about leaving items behind that I don’t want that alert for. Unfortunately this has persisted from iOS 17 into 18 PB4.

I was really hoping for a fix.
There was a bug that FindMy wasnt working at all for people that you are sharing your location with. In this beta it has been fix. My location as well as others that I share with are populating just fine.

I have not had the bug you mentioned.

Not sure if anyone else has ever seen this, but in the past there has been a direct correlation between battery life on my Watch and my iPhone running beta software. Typically I know there is a battery drain issue by how my watch battery is preforming. Up until now on iOS 18 betas the watch has been just as good as before (running watchOS 10.5), but as of downloading beta 6 I have seen the decline in watch battery and phone battery. For me this confirms this beta is a bit more battery hungry.

I know, I've been coming here for a long time, seen it many times... regarding myself, i know the risks, been burned in the past, been there seen it done it and got the t-shirt and hat
This. Exactly.

And the key is having good, solid backup and knowing how to fall back to the production version IF necessary. There are extremely few things from which one cannot recover, and the key is knowing the steps to the dance.

I'm still getting it but not as bad as it was, but so is my wife who isn't on the beta. It says our son is at home when he's not.

Really? So my location had not been working for others, but that seems to be fixed in this beta. But it does seem not everyone is updated. My wife's location is, but not some of my other family. Weird

Don’t know if this is a bug or not. Been running the beta since B1, just noticed that when I set an alarm (never used the alarm previously), to play music or a tone it plays at loud volume even tho I have my iPhone 13’s volume set to low. If I pick the phone up it drops to low volume where it was set. Curious why it drops to the set volume only when I pick it up. Am I missing a setting somewhere or is just a bug in the software?

Searching for this seems to be impossible, but WHY did the back off the changes made to the call list? I’ve tapped on numbers to block and it is back to calling that number again. Grrrrrr….the new way was SO much better.

Yeah they changed it back sadly, already discussing that here.
Let’s just hope we get it back next Monday or the Monday after next one…

We should be on the weekly updates from here on out if I remember correctly and Apple follows the past.

Greetings! I'm on 17.6.1 on my iPhone 15 Plus. I typically only install betas once the golden master is released but iPadOS 18 has been decent (barring a weird issue with icon coloring) and I was wondering if the group thinks 18 has reached a level where it is stable, with good battery life, and worth a slightly early install. Thanks!

The beta is really good so far, battery seems somewhat good too!
But it’s your decision - I am on beta since first developer beta with my 15 PM daily driver, and it’s pretty good, only when charging it gets somewhat hot!
For me no crucial bugs or apps crashing at all! Works flawless in case of my apps I use including banking apps.

Very solid beta over all. Most of the big bugs are gone, and remaining smaller ones don't affect your day to day use. Battery is well a beta battery. Hit or miss. I wouldn't say it's bad, but I wouldn't say it's full release either. If your battery life is really important to you, I would say wait. It still needs to be optimized by Apple.

Only annoying bug I have is my control centre "home/homekit" widgets, or whatever they're called, get reset after every reboot.

As this is a new iOS 18 feature anyway, it's still much better than iOS 17 overall for me.

Do you feel this is close to the golden master? On my 15 Plus I typically end my day around 70-75% battery left and my battery health is 100% with 130 cycles. I just don't want to do anything that would potentially harm the battery health as I have heard the betas can be hard on the health of the battery.

If the battery health is this big of a concern, I would not download this beta. I am not saying it will mess up your health 100%, but since it seems very important to you. I don't see how the risk it worth it. A big update like iOS 18 usually triggers a recalibration of the battery health, so if that 100% battery health number is crazy important, I would say you run the risk of seeing that going down a % with the update.

I am seeing about 10-15% more hit on my battery from the beta. You may go to 60-50% battery at the end of the day.

Thank you for your reply. It's not necessarily that I want to keep it at 100%, I just don't want to do anything that puts stress on the battery that would take lifespan off of it. I don't plan on upgrading this cycle as I'm very happy with the phone.

Then I would wait for sure! If you don’t want any extra stress on your battery, wait at least for the RC (aka GoldenMaster)

Noticed that my 14PM just got warm under normal scrolling of IG. Nothing major at all. This is the first time since beta 3 that I have any heating issues. Not really cooling off. Also, this is first time I have had issues with heat since downloading beta 6.

I have this problem also with ios 17.6.1, iphone 14 pro

I have said it before, it goes in waves. It's been off and on heating issues since iOS 17. One update would fix it, the next would mess it up again. I guess Apple just can't completely figure it out. Beta is a bit more understandable with all that is going on, but full releases are hard to defend.
