This user here https://www.reddit.com/r/iOSBeta/s/z9ZBuedQcn says he has DB6 and in his screenshot the call icon is active in recent calls! Either he doesn't have DB6 or the call icon shows when you search in Recents (obviously a bug). I have asked him but hasn't replied yet.
I can confirm that screen happens when you "search" within Recents

So yea... two UIs in one app, at least one side gonna change before production release

Thank you for confirming it. We still have hope the call icon will stay. 😇

From a purist perspective, betas can indeed put more strain on the battery life. However, how much it will affect your particular device varies widely, depending on your 3rd party apps (yes, Instagram and Facebook!) and your general usage pattern.

Then we have a “Carpe Diem!” lot, preferring to bask in a glory of new iOS tweaks months/weeks before official releases, despite some occasional hiccups along the way.

The choice is yours. 😉

Thank you for the information. I'm still debating it. :)

Very true, and that could help with both those apps. But Apple is to blame on the music app. That one has been an on and off issue since the beginning of iOS 17. Seems like they could have figured that one out by now.

Apple Music does not cause much of a battery drain for me, however it is indeed very resource hungry, somewhat similar in that respect to FaceTime and WhatsApp, I would say.

It sure is. I have had issues with my phone getting really warm and battery depleting at a more rapid rate on iOS 17 through the . updates. Some would be fine, other would start again. This is the first iOS 18.0 beta that has brought that back.

FaceTime makes a lot more sense to me to use so a lot of power, but music really shouldn't be heating up the phone.

as soon as i updated my iPhone to the latest beta update i began getting lines on my iPhone and it’s now stuck on my screen can anyone help and tell me why this happened??

I don’t know, if it appeared with the last beta, try to downgrade to 17.6.1!

Did you dropped your phone?
It looks like your screen is damaged I mean the OLED-Panel, but I can’t say for sure I don’t have any knowledge about that.

yeah i drop it but it never had lines on it ever but as soon as i download the latest ios beta the lines start popping up

In your picture it looks like you've dropped your phone, bottom right, pretty sure i can see some cracks, but you're blaming this on a software version???

how do i do that??
Sorry but why you installed the beta if you don’t know how to roll back to 17.6.1?
Things like this can always happen and you need to know how to roll back the beta to the stable 17.6.1 version…

yes because the lines disappear from my screen and reappear there’s no way it’s from my crack screen.

I didn’t know at all, but do you know how to do it?

You need a Mac or a PC, the ispw file for 17.6.1 (if I am not wrong) and set your phone into DFU Mode (google it) install the 17.6.1 ispw file and here you go.
But I doubt that it will help, it looks more like the screen is damaged not the software!

it might be damaged I don’t know, but I could’ve swore it’s not but maybe you’re right.

if it wasn’t a crack, do you think if the next beta update comes and I update it. Do you think the lines might go away?
