Build number is now being reported on X for both 18.2.1 AND 18.3 beta 2 which would suggest these are locked and ready to go.

That’s a quite big jump from 18.2 to 18.2.1 (9 builds) so it’s probably more than just a security fix.

Probably quite a few Apple Intelligence bug fixes too now that it’s out to a wider audience.

Once I saw it existed (which means it’s hitting people’s servers) I expected to see it before Christmas. Probably 1pm ET today.

But at this point if they are releasing 18.2.1 this close to Christmas, I would think it’s a major vulnerability. I know betas are expected to have issues, but if there is a major vulnerability, I would think they would need both to have the update.

Exactly, I would think the same if an 18.2.1 is indeed imminent. Otherwise, I think they’d wait ‘till after holiday break.

Agree, ideal if released simultaneously for 18.2 and 18.3b! Looks like something is Cook-ing and might come our way even today 😀

Well based on the new info, looks like we might be getting it before Christmas! It’s a Christmas miracle. We had all signed off until the new year, and now we could be getting some updates!

Yeah, we’ll see what happens. I wouldn’t expect huge updates, but minor updates to fix critical security vulnerabilities or major bugs could be in the cards.

I have this feeling an update is coming today. The sign of a 18.2.1 appearing with a build number and the removal of the downgrade option last week is a sign to me. It's possible Thursday or Friday as well, but guess we'll see shortly.

Also Apple could read this forum and just be messing with us as well 😆

I’m not really expecting anything until January next year. Anything that comes before that is likely to address a critical security threat or bug. If they decide to drop a minor update, I’ll be as happy as the next guy, but I’m not holding my breath. 👍🏻
