Can anyone share observations about (and/or screenshots from) the Podcast app? I'm mostly curious:

  1. Does it still support "My Stations"? It's not on the only screenshot I've seen but I hope it's just tucked a tap or two away.
  2. Can you finally "rate" episodes (I miss this from when Podcasts was baked into the Music app.
  3. I hope (and doubt) they added a way to easily see downloaded episodes from within the app.
1. Can't se My Stations
2. Can't rate
3. Downloaded ones no longer have cloud icon. That's how you tell them apart. You can also save a podcast (not sure what the difference between download and save is)

Also, this beta lacks the ability to see chapters in podcasts. Sure hope that comes back!

Do you remember the try-on for Apple Watch? Those watches can do nothing other than running a scripted demo when you long press the side button. I doubt Apple uses the same technique on wwdc announcement. Maybe what we see in this beta is the real performance state while the one used in announce has been optimised for demo purpose.
Plus, Apple don't need to take care about third party app performance and reliability other than the app will be used for demonstration in wwdc.
This was talked about last year but Apple usually is one or two beta versions ahead in what they show at WWDC than what they seed as beta 1.

Just noticed that the Share sheet is more translucent.

Also don't remember seeing this screen when trying to switch the emoji skin tone in iOS 8.

Search does not display all the contacts!! I have a lot of contacts and when I try to search through the search, some contacts are just not found. Can search them through contacts search but not the spotlight search! Anyone else with this bug?

I also have this issue, I said it yesterday and felt like a weird because no body had the same issue. If I go back to 8.4 b4 I do can search contacts in spotlight but in 9 I can't, even reinstalling. I've tried everything: clean install with no backup, clean install with backup, upgrade from 8.3 with and without backup, upgrade from 8.4 b4 with and without backup and I CAN´T GET IT WORKS! ha ha

The overheating/ battery drain problem seems to ease up when mobile data is turned off. Not sure if this will work for everyone or just me.
Battery is probably many things at this point, but the biggest I can see is that apps aren't getting closed properly even though it looks like they are (they don't show up in the app switcher it they are still running). Beta 2 will be welcome!

Agreed.. But turning data has helped a hell of a lot though. I've done numerous "tests" with my apps now and the phone mainly seems to run unbearably hot when using safari for a couple of mins or more. Other than that, battery drainage and temperature are more than acceptable..

That's definitely not the case...this is the ios 8.1.2 volume on an iPhone 6
As opposed to what (in relation to what is it supposedly now in iOS 9)?

When volume limit is enabled (which I think is sometimes enabled in EU areas by default) there is some color that is involved, and that has been even before iOS 7 as I recall. So perhaps that's what this might be in reference to?

You're kidding, right? Iphone 5s scores in geekbench 1400 and 2500 while the 6 scores 1600 and 2900. That's not that big of a difference, mean while, the 5s scores double than the iphone 5. Plus, the 5s and the 6 work the same on ios 8, IDENTICAL. And btw, I use betas since ios 4 so I have a slight idea about how ios works or should. Meanwhile, 4 year old nokia phones run their last OS with no lag what so ever.[/QU

I hold a 5s and my 5 on a apple store a year ago to test the speed of A7 chip.Seriously , I was not impressed. they were equal in the speed test... The A7 score is much higher than A6, but when u compare in real life ,the ip5 and 5s performance is eqqual! Sometimes my ip5 outperformed the ip5s!

Well, no matter what, we often receive the most incomplete version of software from Apple, especially in first beta. Could I say some of those bugs we reported is already cleared in their software delivered in WWDC?

I believe I have downloaded a broken iOS 8.4 beta 4 software. When I tried using iTunes to update (I Always use update to update beta software), the update process canceled in half of the way, and iTunes told me I need to choose update or restore. I definitely could not click restore because everything on that would gone.
Then, since iPad mini successfully updated from iOS 9 to iOS 8.4 beta 4, I update my iPhone using iOS 9 beta 1 again. Now, I use the iOS 9 beta 1 again....
Therefore, I still need to face to power drain problem in this beta.

Either that or you probably used the EU volume limit before. When enabled, the maximum volume stops at the yellow bar, so you don't get to see it.
Wow...I learn something new every time I come here. I've never seen a colored volume bar before and I've been on every version of iOS since the beginning. In the US, at least, the volume bar is just white dashes against a grey background. Am I understanding this is an EU thing?

A little bug.
reachability does not always work (or it does not work most times) in this beta 1.
And if you activate personal hotspot, typically the home screen icon should not "attach" on the blue indicate bar. However in this beta, home screen icons "attach" themselves on the blue indicate bar. I mean "attach" because they are so close.
