I can't imagine how stupid you guys would look if the tone came back in GM.

Blindly defending Apple when it's clearly not a good idea.
No one is defending Apple really. Simply saying there can be reasoning there as to why it is the way that it is right now, assuming it's all related to an actual design change related to it (which isn't a given at this point, but it's a fairly decent possibility). It's not to say that it's necessarily great or anything like that, just that it can be a deliberate change for various reasons (some of which might not be all that great, but deliberate nonetheless).

Things can and certainly have changed from beta to beta or beta to GM/final before, sometimes because of a design decision sometimes because there was an issue somewhere sometimes because something wasn't quite ready, etc., etc., etc. So anything is certainly possible.

The fact it's been this way for a couple betas now and not "fixed" is pretty much proof enough. It's "clearly not a good idea" to you because you don't like the change.

The issue people are having of "erratic" no cues at all for the various methods is probably down to their setting. Everything works just fine for me. Vibrate for home press, audible cue when using headphones and Hey Siri.

I can't imaging how stupid you'll look when it's still the same next year in iOS 10 beta.

Well, wait till Taylor tweets about this.

Spotlight search has been unresponsive since b1 too, should I expect the same in GM?

Perhaps it's because Apple wants us to slow down in life, reducing stress, leading to a healthier lifestyle.

That's how you sound right now.

I'm sure Taylor has USB and or Bluetooth in her car(s).

Anyone else having a problem with the music app. If I've got iCloud music library turned on the music app won't play anything in my collection it also won't allow me to download the songs either. Tried turning it off and rebooting my iPhone then turning it all back on again but no joy. It'll let me download purchases I've made if I turn off iCloud music library.
Yep same problem and I'm on the Public Beta 1 with the iPad Air 2.

I think this is new (at least I couldn’t do this before): You can now stream Apple Music over mobile data without having to enable it for iTunes in general (e.g. like app downloads and updates, music purchases and so on). This was a concern of mine, because I would like to listen to music, but not risk having app updates eat up my data allowance. Previously I would have to disable automatic app updates completely.

iCloud Music Library playback not functioning in Music app with Beta 4. Apple Music and Beats 1 still functioning, Hoping this is a server-side issue.
Works fine here. :/

Edit: Ah, I see what you mean now. It seems to refuse to load some of my songs, but I can’t pinpoint it yet.

It's a bug. They have a setting to silence Siri feedback. It just doesn't work on the iPhone yet.

The lack of Siri tone isn't a problem for me, I think I actually prefer it. The vibration is enough, the two toned.. tone was more annoying than useful

It’s no proof at all. There are lots of beta 1 issues that need to be addressed and Apple has no apparent priority list that we know about. Maybe it will be fixed in the next beta, maybe in the last, maybe a fix will not be made in time. There is no certainty and certainly no proof. Given that it currently seems to work completely different on my iPhone means that there are a few bugs in it that ought to be fixed either way.

As I said, even if they were planning to remove the audible cue, it is still not consistent. There is no reason to play it when the user invokes Siri by hand while having earphones on (given that they are actively using the device), like there is no reason why they should suppress the cue when users invoke Siri by voice from a distance (without necessarily seeing the display and knowing that Siri is listening). Maybe the vibration itself is the cause for the bug, it would not affect iPads. My iPhone also often suppresses notification sounds for no apparent reason, lots of audio-related bugs presently. I can accept that Apple removes the cue, but from what we can currently see, it can go in either direction.

Well, the sound apparently seems to play when invoked by voice from a distance.

But it doesn't suppress the audio cue when using Hey Siri. You should probably check your settings if it is.

Anybody else really lagging doing anything? Closing apps bugging out almost every time I bring it up. Started off smooth now it's going downhill.
