After a reboot yesterday evening, Proactive Search started working for me. I don't know if it's a glitch or intentional, but Siri Suggestions now shows part of a third row of apps, I guess as a visual cue that there's more info to display.

I get that too and it comes and goes. I don't think its supposed to be there and it looks bad when it is. (opinion)

Mine will also cut off the bottom of the wording in the Nearby section as it makes room for the third row.

Does settings always show as the first App in Proactive Search? Mine does.

Its based on how often you use an app but currently settings is the third in line for me. I have been using it a lot since getting the beta and playing with settings.

until they fix that grey message box flashing when you enter a text message bug this **** isn't worth installing

haha, this also drives me insane!
also noticed that sometimes the messages keep loading beneath the text box and if you swipe up to see new messages it bounces back up and you cant read them unless you go back and then hit the thread again.

There is a new "Lock/Unlock" option in General Settings below Auto-Lock and Restrictions that appears in the iPad mini 3 Settings but not in the iPhone 5s Settings. Anyone know what this does exactly?

I really dislike the fact that I can't task-switch when I'm prompted for my iTunes Store password. I would be switching to 1Password to copy my password. Instead I have to close the app, return to the app, and repeat the action that prompted the password challenge in the first place. Is there a security logic for that or just an annoyance? For that matter, I wish iOS had deeper integration with 1Password/password-managers in general.

I saw this too, i was thinking the same!

The only impact it makes as far as I can tell is that it doesn't lock when I close the "smart case" cover, the screen stays on. Not really sure why that would be desirable. I'm confused by these lock settings. As I said before, I would like it to lock after some defined duration when unplugged but never lock automatically when plugged, maybe some day.

And while I'm on my wish list, I hope that iBooks catches up with Kindle's reading experience -- Amazon has much better annotations, notes, textual analysis, Goodreads integration, statistics, etc.

Ah okay, makes sense i guess, i'll keep it on since i like it auto-locking with the smart cover.

I installed PB2 yesterday but proactivity or Siri suggestions is not working.. I already tried the Google solution of turning it off, restarting the iPhone and activating it again but with no luck... PB2 should be the same than DP4, anyone is in the same boat?

It's the setting that allows certain cases to unlock (or turn on the screen if you have TouchID/Passcode enabled) when you lift the cover.

It took a few hours for me before that started appearing. Be patient and try a reboot again later.

Mine didn't work straight away, keep using the device and it should gather it's needed data and start working after a while.

With this beta you still cannot use swipe gestures when going to the home screen. This was possible mid animation in iOS 8 but with 9 you have to once again wait for the whole animation to finish. I hope they don't forget about that

I don't know if this is new or if I missed it in 8: If you get an email with a PDF attached you can annotate, edit and sign it and send it back. To do this open the PDF in the lower right corner is a tool box icon. That opens the editing tool. It has a "freehand" tool for highlighting in multiple colors and thicknesses, a text typing tool and a resizable signature tool. Once you're done editing it puts in in a response email addressed to the individual tat sent it to you. I really like this...very handy for work.
Nice find! :)

Beta 4 is definitely an improvement over beta 3 on my air2 and 6plus. Smoother and much faster transitions, freer glitches and over 30% more battery life. The screenshot below is from my 6plus and after the same usage on beta 3 I would have at best 3-3.5 hours.

Screen brightness ~40%, heavy Facebook, Tweetbot, games and News.

Anyone else in HK, device language stuck with 'English UK' and cannot change to 'English'??

So I think I found a bug with the music app. I noticed a massive battery drain when listening to music, and my phone began heating up. The songs were those that were stored locally. I turned off 'use cellular data' in settings, and the drain stopped. The phone cooled down.

It seems as if the music app defaults to streaming even though you have the songs stored locally.

What about the Air 2 battery life? I'm not gettin more than 9 hours usage time and I have nothing running on background most of the time. My Wifi is also off most of the time.

Air 2 is better on beta 4 here. I'm at 76% battery right now with 3.5 hours of usage and 24 hours of standby (brightness between 40-70%, and mostly Netflix and Safari).
