Anyone noticed this Hide button in previous betas?

Seeing it in the Phone.app as well. Don't recall that being there in beta 3.

That's a bug. It uses low quality blur for some tabbars. Toolbars and Navigationbars remain the same, you can see that it is pixelated. This was the case in some iOS 8 betas, too.

This is by design. Plug into headphones/speaker/Bluetooth and the sound does play.
Doesn't make sense... It still has sound on the iPad. Why not make it consistent across devices if it's a feature? Still think it's a bug.

It's a bug. When doing specific things in Siri sometimes the sound is there. Also, as you said, it's still on iPad.

Makes sense to me. Someone is more likely to be out in public with their phone than an iPad. Removing the dumb double beep audio is less obtrusive to everyone else around you.

I think so too. If they wanted to remove the tone, they would have easily done so consistently. It’s easier to remove that code rather than keeping it working.

But it doesn’t work at all anymore, not even with Hey Siri. Having that audible confirmation is something I really miss at this point. Also, what happens if Hey Siri is enabled without you knowing? Depending on the query, Siri won’t tell you anything.

But why remove it by default? There is a new setting to control Siri sounds with Silent switch on the iPhone...

Does Whats App Calling still crash? This was the only thing keeping me from switching to IOS9 as I use that function a lot.

Minor changes, looks like Apple will start to fully optimize code soon then :)

It's up to 3rd party apps to fix crashing on new versions of iOS. And they are not allowed to put out updates in the App Store that support the new iOS until that version releases.

The iPhone vibrates when you activate Siri. The sound activates when you say "Hey Siri". It activates the sound on the iPad and iPod touch because they have no motor to vibrate.

It's not that they aren't removing it randomly. They removed it because it just vibrates in your hand on your phone.

Well that really sucks. :(

Thanks for replying.

It doesn’t vibrate on my iPhone 6 at all anymore either. There is also no sound when I say “Hey Siri”, it will only ding sometimes when it understood the query, but not always (e.g. no sound when I ask it to open an app). It does vibrate when I set the phone to silent mode, which reinforces the belief that the sound is simply not working as intended.

has anyone else had the bug throughout all these betas of the reachability view being black when in an app? Like when it slides down, its black instead of a blurry background view

Keep your hopes up, Telegram fixed all their iOS 9 bugs already so it is possible. But, they did add them in feature releases so it might not be possible to have just fixes.

Handoff only works between iPad and iPhone (iOS) but not between iOS and OS X.

Dropbox App just updated with the following in the release notes:
"Fixes most common crashes for users running the iOS 9 Beta."

I think you're experiencing an individual bug then.

My 6, our testing 6, and my coding buddy's 5S all vibrate just fine.

They aren't allowed to add new APIs, but they are allowed to correct code and remove/fix their broken APIs/code.

If things can be fixed while still using iOS 8 SDK, sure it can be updated and fixed. But if the fix requires the use of iOS 9 SDK then it can't till iOS 9 is released.
