Same, I'm on an iPhone 5 and the performance has definitely improved over 9.0. Swiping in the app switcher is smooth now, whereas it felt a bit "gritty" before.

I have had the same experience. I'm on an iPhone 5. It's too early to tell on battery but it's quick and smooth, especially on the app switcher, which on pb5 was stuttery. It's pleasant to use, and I don't feel like I'm making do until an update comes along anymore. The doubledown casino app still doesn't work, but it has never worked on any incarnation of ios9, lol

There are probably a lot of variables involved.

Is the performance you have seen after you loaded your purchased apps or before?
Well I didn't do a full restore, just updated straight from 8.4. In my experience doing a full restore doesn't effect performance.

More than likely, you have a lot of apps that haven't been updated to iOS 9 yet. One or more of them could be the cause of what you see.
Its not any specific app. Its overall sluggishness compared to 8.4. Pressing an icon for example has a small lag time as where 8.4 was instant. Small things like this add up.

I understand your point. Just having apps loaded that aren't optimized for iOS 9 can have (depending on app) a big affect on performance. Add that scenario to the small problems inherit in the current build, and problems become even more amplified.

I don't think it fair to blast the iOS 9 performance at this point in time, especially with it being a GM candidate and most apps not being optimized for iOS 9.

Exactly. I've seen this on all betas all the way though the GM to this. Overall responsiveness just isn't on par with 8.4.1. How people don't feel this when they are using the device blows my mind! When I'm in an app and hit the home button usually I can have my finger on the next app I want to open and almost instantly it will register my tap to begin opening on 8.4. On any iOS 9 it takes me 3-5 taps for anything to start happening between transitions.

Are you on the 6 Plus? I'm wondering if this is happening on the regular 6?

Not everyone has the same phone model or has the same apps as you. And even when you find a few people that have the exact same setup on their phone, the usage and expectations are not all the same. When you keep that in mind, your mind won't be blown away.

I've never complained about battery life on any iPhone. However it sucks deep and hard on all iOS 9 betas and and now 9.1 as well. It's dropped 8% in 42 minutes from 100% overnight charge

Maybe do you fresh install and then restore from backup. I only had issues with the first 9 beta, but since then the battery life has been great.

I'm on an iPhone 6 and I experience this as well.

While the GM may be more smooth than the Betas, it is no where near a clean install of 8.4.1. I clean installed 9, used it for 20 minutes, and quickly went back to 8.4.1. 8.4.1 is currently far more responsive, but iOS 9.1 or .2 should be better.

Knowing how Apple slows down older devices, I'm not sure I'm going to upgrade my 6 to iOS 9. iOS 8 ended its life as a fast and stable release. iOS 9 has very minor upgrades. I'd rather ensure that my device is running quickly than risk slowing down my device. If there's an overwhelming positive response from iOS 9 in the future, I'll reevaluate. But some people are reporting iOS 9 as fast and responsive, which I know to be false, so trusting others could backfire.

I jumped from 9.0 Beta 5 to 9.1 Beta 1. Nice so far.
6plus, 6hr 19min usage and 21hr standby with 54% left on battery.
iPad Air 2, 4hr 59min usage and 21hr standby with 72% left on battery.

I posted this last night on another thread but I assume its still true for today.

It's early, but I'm seeing a huge improvement in battery life vs. the iOS 9 betas and an improvement over 8.x, too, though less noticeable.

Touchscreen on my Air 2 is MUCH more responsive than it was on any iOS 9 beta.
I agree with this statement. The gestures are responding right away. Prior I would need to pinch to close twice, sometimes three times. Now its first try. I'm not sure I noticed that as an issue until the update showed me how fast it could have been.

The battery on my 6 Plus with the 9.0GM was the same as with the Public Beta 3.I am going go test it now with 9.1 from 100 to 1%.

Just about drove me NUTS. :D Really. Trying to minimize apps often took 4-5 tries. Sometimes I gave up and used the home button, which I hadn't done in years. It's totally fixed.

Thats horrible. I don't think it's a common issue. Have you tried restoring?

I let it die completely and then charged it, it's now at 50% and 2hrs and 40 mins which is better. I still don't think I'll get my normal 5.5-6 hours.

My battery dropped 20% in an hour. I'm on an iPhone 6. Is this normal for new installs? Does it level out after a few days?

It can happen. Keep an eye on it over a few days and charge cycles and see how it behaves then. If the phone is warm often and is dropping the battery quite noticeably you might want to try closing all apps and restarting to make sure something isn't "stuck" in some fashion.

It's definitely not hot. Just slightly warm because it's in my pocket. I think it was just the initial install. I'll keep an eye on it this weekend. Thanks for the help!

Anyone else noticed performance boost of the wifi and cellular data connection in 9.1? I'm on 6 plus.
Can't wait for the "2x performance" of 6s as well.
Yes. Safari and other web apps are easily twice as fast loading on wifi at least. Even my apps that use the cloud are faster. Reeder (RSS reader) is blazing and I don't ever remember it being that fast on my 6 Plus. I thought Apple may have started testing a content blocker or massively faster JavaScript engine.

I haven't been away from wifi and been to busy to keep it on cellular to try that.

Needless to say I'm super happy with 9.1 beta.

[Edit] Upon further use it almost seems as if they upped the refresh rate (a comparison, it's not possible in software) or made that part more efficient. Everything just reacts; the lag is gone!
