Today was the first day of using 9.1 beta 1 on my iPhone 6 after upgrading from the 9.0 GM. All I can say is wow! Battery life for me was amazing today. I'm usually at 75-85% after working my 4-12 shift but today I left work around 95% with the same usage. My phone is in my pocket most of the day and use my Apple Watch for notifications/responding to messages/and timer functions. But so far 9.1 feels promising.

I restored 8.4.1 on my Air 2 just because I could. Wow, battery life compared to 9.1 PB is much worse than I remembered. Back to the 9.1 PB.

First day with the latest version of iOS9 on my iPhone 5.

I removed the Facebook application because it spends too much battery.

The battery save system was activated in 20%

I'm thinking of giving a second chance to my iPhone 5 and buy a new battery to see if I can get some improvement.

If you are on iOS 9.1 beta, will it convert to regular 9.1 when it is out of beta or does one have to reinstall the 9.1GM version when it gets released?

First day using iOS 9.1 on my iPhone 6. Battery is simply amazing!! (At this point, battery was 2% and I enabled low power mode in 20%).

I don't know, I remember getting 8-10 hours of usage and 1 to 1.5 days of standby on my iPhone 6 with iOS 8. I was seeing similar numbers to what you are seeing with 9.1 over the past few days as well, but those don't seem as good in comparison.

Well... For some reason, I've never had good battery on my iPhone 6. So, considering that this is a beta version and this is my first day, I think it's pretty good.

Battery and performance on par with 9.0 GM (which I tried for a couple of days ago) on my 6 Plus - same delay opening apps, same heavy feeling on keyboard, etc.

People who say both 9.0 and 9.1 run smooth need to either downgrade to 8.4.1 to remind themselves of what performance is, or do a side by side comparison with another phone.

Think I might have spoken too soon re improved battery life. I'm seeing drops of about 8% in 10 minutes. The new News app seems to be causing heat issues too. iPhone 6 Plus.

Gonna 'upgrade' to the iOS 9 release tonight and see if that improves anything. Does anyone know if News is only available on 9.1 in the UK? Cause that's when it first appeared for me and now I have it all set up, I don't really want to lose it again.

Grrrrrrr just noticed that this beta is giving me same usage and standby stats!

Never really had this problem, what's the solution, a restore?

Or just be happy that their perception of smooth makes them happy with their device.

I once worked on a dev project where one of the devs wanted to make a part of a corporate apps milliseconds faster than it was. Guess what, the users didn't give a toss, they didn't notice a difference.

So, it is acceptable to have sluggier and sluggier software each year?

This is in Russian, but shows very well how poorly optimized 9GM is:

Btw, have you ever seen F1? How 1 second each lap amounts to a lot in the long run... (10 laps later = 10 seconds, which is a lot in F1 terms). This is the same for iOS9. If I perform 10 actions that take 0.5 seconds longer, that's 5 seconds. Which may not seem a lot, but in the end it all adds up (just count the seconds in your head, it's more than it seems... and if it were 20 actions = 10 seconds, etc...).

Within the past week or so, I have gone from 9.0 PB3 to 9.1 PB and yesterday went back to 8.4.1 on my Air 2. Performance and battery life were best on the 9.1 PB.

Am I right in saying the iOS 9 release won't appear as an update for those of us running the 9.1 PB? I want to do a fresh install on my iPhone after the issues I've had, will I have to download the file somewhere else and force update via iTunes?

Yeah, that's pretty much it.

I have the same experience on my Plus coming from 8.4.
The only way to eliminate that lag to set reduce motion to on. Then its on par and a tad faster then 8.4.

I had both my devices (6+ and Air 2) on iOS 9 GM.

I'm on 9.1 beta 1 now and in my opinion, it should have been the GM release. It just feels more polished on both of my devices.

Okay fine. Also, do you know if I can restore my Watch from iCloud even with setting up as new iPhone? Or will Watch only restore with the existing iPhone backup?

Hmm. I'm still seeing terrible battery life on my 6 Plus.
