A sad statement since iOS 8 was nothing to write home about in the performance department.
Yes it is... I find it hilarious that iOS 8 (which I've spent the last year putting up with being slow, is now my standard for performance). iOS 8 was slow but it had enough features to compensate for that.

I simply love how iOS 9.1 is running on my 6+.

Tons better than iOS 8 and more stable. iOS 8 is a distant memory here. :)

Are you able to compare it to a 6+ that still has 8.4.1 loaded? I run 9.1 b4 on wife's phone, 8.4.1 on mine and there is noticeable difference still. Maybe if I load 9.1 on both, 8 will then fade from my memory as well.

I hate the pointless list of apps on that screen. Just give me news!

We can only remove apps from Spotlight search completely i think so we don't see them there but also cannot search in apps any longer. It's news + apps or nothing when you have Spotlight search on. I hated to see the news and therefore turned off 'Spotlight search' and 'Siri suggestions'.

Hmm that doesn't sound good do you see any improvements in regards to stuttering/lag with third party keyboards? I'm also using an iPad mini2 and have major lag in 9.0.2. with showing various (e.g. Swype which released an iOS9 update) 3rd party keyboard especially with Spotlight search but also within apps like Safari and Mail.

I no longer run 8.4.1 on any of my devices.

What I can say is this, Safari is light years ahead in iOS 9. As a whole, iOS 9 is more stable for me. Safari was a crash machine on 8. Not one crashes on 9.

Does it need a small tweak in the app switcher, yes. Is it so bad, it cripples iOS and makes it worse than 8? No. It's smooth enough for my bloodstream. That's not to say it's a lag fest, because it isn't on my device.

Staying on 8, simply for smoothness is not an option here. Stability, especially in regards to Safari is much more important to me.

iOS 9 has actually made me rethink buying the 6s. Less likely that will be happening now.

I guess the same could be said on the latest iPads. Some stutters here and there but when using multitasking its totally worth it.

I had 9.1 on my iPhone 6 before I had it replaced today due it being bent and battery being horrendous.

The ios on my old 6 was brilliant apart from my battery which was a hardware issue. No LAG settings bug still there no noticeable glitches jumps millisecond freezing. It's much better than 9.0.2 I will be putting it into new 6 once I've sorted it out.

Is there also lag when you open Spotlight search (the one when you scroll down) and have a 3rd party keyboard in use like e.g. Swype (which released an iOS9 fix)and others like Path Input. The Apple keyboard works quickly. This lag is huge with iPad mini2 and also with iPhone 5s since iOS9.0.2 (wasn't the case in iOS8).

I have the same devices and it's the same for me. Seems like this beta has helped out the 6/+-6s/+.

Well I just came across a bizarre, but harmless bug in iOS 9.1 beta 4 on the iPhone 6.

When I launch the phone app, the "Field Test" number is briefly visible above the keypad, then it clears out. This happens every time, even if I swipe the phone app away in the multitasking switcher and relaunch it.

It doesn't seem to affect anything, and I can still make calls, but... what the heck is causing this?

Screenshot attached. It took some careful timing to grab it!

I'm loving it too much. So smooth and fast.

I may jump on this beta eventually though, as some performance issues are fixed.

Is anyone else having an issue with music or air played video being stopped when you lock the phone? Had it in every beta for 9.1 so far.
