If they didn't change anything, there wouldn't be an update.

Just because you don't see it and you are experiencing the same bugs on your device that you were before, doesn't mean they didn't change things and fix other bugs that you simply don't come across.

How much do you really expect to be changed in the 4 or 5 working days since last beta release?

What a great prioritization scheme; let's fix all the non-obvious bugs that pretty much nobody notices except a few edge users.
So if you don't personally experience a bug, nobody notices it?

You aren't the only iOS user in the world. You can't possibly use your phone exactly the same way as even one other person, much less the millions upon millions of people with different apps, different settings, and different hardware.

How much do you really expect to be changed in the 4 or 5 working days since last beta release?
I don't know, and I won't pretend to know unlike so many people around here. But certainly more than "nothing", as was previously implied.

I really don't see why this was over a GB to download. They didn't change anything, and all the stupid old amateur hour bugs are still there...
Don't they often offer the full install for various beta versions rather than the delta install?

Is anyone else noticing its taking forever to download? I've been looking at the update requested screen for five minutes now.

9.2 B4 is faster on my 5. Not considerably, but more than noticeably. And finally the quick reply lag is gone, halle-freakin-luyah.

And WOW is the app switcher faster.

A theory that could make sense since it's a major change introduced in iOS 9 is that they used Metal API instead of OpenGL (as in iOS8 before) across the system, which renders the UI.
Yeah, Metal is still definitely negatively effecting things so far. Apple still has work to do... I don't get why El Cap benefitted SO much with Metal, but iOS got worse!

I think they are shipping the updates as complete installs rather than partial "delta updates" is what I think they're called. They aren't changing a lot, really. Nothing in the forefront at least.

I'm getting very frustrated at how nothing is changing in these new betas. Huge waste of about 30 minutes downloading these 1.5GB updates for my iPad and iPhone expecting something to get better.

Darn. This Beta didn't fix the issue with my Car ipod/iPhone Interface where music doesn't play (and I don't get any sound from other apps like Maps etc..). This is making me nervous. If they don't get this fixed by the release of 9.2 then I am going to have to roll back to 9.1 before it stops being signed.

That's why I referred to others if you bothered to read a bit more carefully. This thread (and all previous beta threads pretty much for >9.2b1) is full of people experiencing exactly the same bugs that have been there since iOS 9.0b1 back in mid-2015.

Looks like the iPhone 6 will never be as smooth as it was on 8.4.1.Its over for that device as well as the Air 2

Are you talking about "a few edge users"? I'd say the vast majority of bugs could be classified as only affecting "a few edge users", simply because everybody uses a different subset of features. Things like the Settings app loading in the wrong place on the screen would be an example of something affecting everybody- and also something that should have been fixed way sooner. iOS would be far worse than it is now if most bugs were that prominent.

There is legit nothing wrong with my Air 2 in comparison to 8.4. I think saying it's over for a device is a little bit over the top. My iPad 2 didn't die fully until 9.0. Yes, 8.0 made it slow as can be, but it still worked. Saying it's over for a one year old iPad with a tri-core processor and 2GB of RAM is a little ridiculous when my iPad 2 lasted 4.5 years.

iPad Air 2 is manageable.Lags aren't that bad but the feeling that device used to give on 8.4.1 of havinG "too much power" is gone

There is so much more running on the Air 2 with 9.X vs 8.4.1. Split screen and slide over are always ready to go. That does use resources. I don't have your device, so I don't know your experience, just like you don't have my device, so you don't know my experience. I don't want to get into those back and forth about lag (there are too many members already doing that). I just personally felt saying a top tier device is already 'past its prime' was a little over the top.

Devices weren't as good in 8.0 or 8.1 days when compared to 8.3 or 8.4. So we'd likely need to wait until the latter versions of iOS 9 to really make they call.

Anyone know why Apple has had so many stutter issues with iOS 9? Even on the latest hardware?

I remember that especially prior to iOS 7, there were NEVER such issues in iOS. I have an ancient iPod touch in my car running iOS 5 and it's smooth as BUTTER. I haven't seen that sort of smoothness since iOS 6, it feels like everything iOS 7 and later has had performance problems.

It's as if Apple decided to stop caring about smoothness in the UI.
It's because they are going overboard with the use of blur/translucency effects. Replace them with something less demanding and even old devices like iPhone 4S would be magically usable with 60 fps animations.

Blur is killing iOS.

Should we start an online petition to disable blur in operating systems? It's not energy efficient.
