I ve just discovered this on my 5s: the clock app, which has an animated app icon, makes the control center and the notification center a little bit stuttery from time to time. I was on the first page where I keep the clock app and CC was a little bit stuttery in the first swipe then it got smooth. Then I slide to the left or swipe down for spotlight and come back and I see the CC stuttery but on the second page the CC is smooth. So, the animated icon of the clock app makes the CC and the NC stutter just a little bit like most of the times so I just put the app in a folder and now it s all fixed. This is for those obsessed with the CC like me when I sometimes just sit in bed and swipe up and down to enjoy the smoothness.:D

Agreed.

Though I also agree with the dude that posted a page or two back about wishing Apple would make the settings icon 3D touch menu dynamic based on your most used/visited settings sub-menus.

It'd be nice if it was actually smart like that vs. the current way that Messages is handled. (Random 3 contacts? Wtf?)

I agree. It would be great if there was a 3D Touch shortcut setting that could just let us customize it.

I believe that might have been me that brought up making the Settings shortcuts dynamic.

Messages is dynamic, it only seems random because there are a few things it factors in. Location being the biggest one that makes it seem not so dynamic and more random.

An example, you text a friend more often while at work and barely while at home. When you're at home even though it may have been one of your most recent conversations, because you're at home it's learnt you barely text that person in that location. Then throw in the time of day and the actual day of the week into the mix. It takes all that into consideration and is why it makes it look random on the surface, but it's quite calculated.

Now having said all that. Settings definitely does not need to be as complex and more just a straight up recent/most used without location/time/day changing results.

Outlook has difficu time connecting to my google gmail account since beta 2. Always says connection can't be made. Never had the issue before on beta 1 or any previous version

Don't know if it's already been mentioned, but couldn't Apple just lock the Fps to 50 to maintain a slick fluid compromise?
It isn't that simple, especially when more often than not there will be animations that play out at less than that still. iOS 9 is doing much better but not to that point yet unfortunately.
While I'm not one of the lag people, I appreciate following along in these threads to see if there's been any improvement or degradation. A very factual "it's better", "mine goes 60fps", or even "mine has gotten worse" are great updates. People always seem to ask if one particular bug or another was fixed whenever there's a new beta. That's fine. We want to know if it's getting better or worse. It shouldn't be any different for lag and stutter.

What people are sick of are the same people making outrageous claims. We're tired of it spreading throughout the forum, especially in threads that have nothing to do with lag and stutter. We're tired of the hyperbole. We're tired of hearing the back and forth between the same people with the same information. We're tired of video after video. We're tired of not being able to have a reasonable conversation because you leave for an hour and there's 8 new pages about nothing except lag and stutter. We're quite simply sick of all the drama.

Basically, there's a huge difference between reporting your personal findings on lag and stutter and people who want to scrap that poor dead horse off the pavement so they can beat it some more. I'm interested in iOS 9 and want to know the current state. I don't need is to be told it's trash, unusable, a travesty, etc. We know what Apple "promised". We know what Apple delivered. We know they're not the same. We don't need to have that conversation over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. The point has been made. It's been made to the point of people blocking one another because they're sick of hearing the same stuff day after day. THAT is the behavior people are having issues with, not the lag and stutter itself.

The issue is (not you but some other well-known abusers) say it over and over and over and over like a broken record. Literally every thread that mentions iOS9 they come in and crap it up saying "oh yeh oh yeh? That vid isn't 60fps it means nothing. Lag lag stutter stutter." At some point it's just obnoxious to be obnoxious, and unfortunately mods dont seem to want to just ban these people once and for all. It's the same 4-5 people who just go around abusing it in every thread. I'm sure you know the names too of a few.

As if saying it 50 times on Macrumors will have any influence at all on Apple. More constructive would be to actually SAY IT TO APPLE who cant change it (via email of the beta feedback app). Dont you think?

And as you said, only some people see it; some don't. Why do the people who want to actually discuss the thread topics at hand have to be subjected to stutter/lag debates?

Not really asking you this stuff since you aren't one of the abusers, just more hypothetically why it's just so stupid and annoying

Well said both of you. I'm tired of the fighting as well. I am on the "ew stutter" side of things but I generally try to remain more calm, and keep things more to a "report" or generally curious if a consistent stutter is fixed. I want to be able to "report my findings" and voice how I'm feeling about it without indirectly getting a thread shut down every single time, or other people coming in and raising hell, thinking their opinion or issue matters far more than mine.

I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, if you don't see the issues, that's fine. Good for you actually, I wish I wasn't bothered by these things lol. But don't come to me denying the issue is there and saying I'm dumb for being so "nit picky", I'm sorry that I... Noticed a widespread issue..? It's like some people are convinced that if there's a single person in a huge discussion who still disagrees with them, there is still arguing to do to ensure they are right. Just take your stance, make your argument, listen to theirs, acknowledge its validity, and carry on. These people exist on both sides and the bickering is truly irritating.

Now I do get set off when others randomly get set off and say things like "You people are ridiculous there are no issues here, or if there are, they don't matter as much as <insert bug here>" that's annoying to me. I've gotten better at simply ignoring it lately. If I see that I literally unsubscribe from the thread sometimes.

Anyywayyy. We need to get back on topic haha. At least it hasn't been annoyingly heated. I'm hoping the public beta is out soon, I wonder what's with the consistent gap between DP and PB lately. Personally I was surprised the PB didn't drop today.

iOS 9.3b2 seems to have Hardware keyboard support for Spotlight now.
Edit: you can launch a Spotlight search and use arrow keys + enter to launch an app or search result.

This means you can search for + launch an app completely with the keyboard on an iPad, just like you can on a Mac. Been waiting a really long time for this one. Happy to see it work so well.

I noticed that when trying to write a message on Snapchat, it won't send. It only sends when I connect to wifi. I also noticed that my camera dir remote view app won't connect on data either, only when I am on wifi. I did not have either of these issues on iOS 9.3 beta 1. I am going to wipe my device and re install the beta.

That doesn't seem right

Night Shift word placement bugs me as well.

I've submitted feedback on both.

H guys, I noticed a very annoying bug on iOS 9.2.1: Safari crashes every time I touch the search bar if "Safari Suggestions" is ON. Is this problem fixed with iOS 9.3?
EDIT: on iPhone 6S Plus

This is actually a really good catch - I noticed this myself on my old iPhone 4. The animated clock icon seems to cause various issues - I suspect the blur being overlaid onto an animated icon causes lag - might be worth testing?

Would explain why pulling the control centre up too far causes lag (most people, like myself, have the clock on the 2nd row default location, and that's exactly where the lag starts).

Could you test this? I've not installed it any versions of iOS9 for a while...

No, I did what you said and put the clock app on the first row. Then I launched spotlight and swipe the CC and it starts to lag from the beginning even tho the app was on the first row.

Interesting then. Perhaps just the constant animation is causing issues then... if you just tuck the Clock into a folder I presume every screen is smooth?

I think the problem is that C DM and i7guy come flying in every iOS 9.x thread saying "my devices run without any issues, try a restore, iOS 9 is a lot better than iOS 8, your phone is defective, blabla". They restart the discussion every single time. How does it help the people with issues by saying that they are not experiencing any issues? That is not relevant information at all.

Was about to post that, same scenario on my 6s 9.3 beta 2, but hadn't noticed it before!
Had already tried restarting and hard reboot, with no success, but turning off Safari suggestions has done the trick. Turning it back on results in Safari crashing every time I try to access the search bar...

Just turn on Reduce transparency, CC & NC are going to be smooth until apple really fixes the issue

When someone says: no the UI is lag... They would immediately defend Apple by saying that a lot of other aspect is improved blah blah blah.
But the truth is the lag is definitely there, they're just trying to cover it up.

Well, the CC stutters only on the page where you have the clock app, not all the pages. So yeah, I put the clock app in a folder and now I have a full 60 fps CC:D

I can t do that, that grey looks horrible and I can barely read stuff in the NC.

I think this animated clock icon and CC problem is iPhone 5S-centric, my 6 does not do this. It drops frames a tiny bit on just about every page. Sometimes it doesn't drop any frames. Hmm. I even tried moving the clock icon down where cc would be covering it and still nothing.
